Based on UAE's past performances, that'll result in total disarray. IMO they're better of with the Pogacar recipe: rocket launching Del Toro after setting high pace.

Les Praeres Remco has this in the bag. Antenas del Maigmó Remco not gonna like this.

Vingegaard being there in UAE & Catalunya puts quite some pressure on Remco. There are no more excuses now: he's got top level support from team, coaches and material and finally seems to have had a winter without issues.

I think this all makes sense. GC Remco is perfectly capable of winning one day races and TT's. But TT/spring Remco is not capable of winning major GC's.

Idd, i assumed his normal competition weight as the reference. GT weight seems like a temporary exception.

Well, he called that upon himself: GT weight: 61kg ECC 2025: 63,5kg Off-season: +4/5 kg==> +-67/68kg then? For an athlete that's quite a stretch IMO. Especially when climbing is a bit of an achilles heel.

No, she should win these with ease like Roglic did. I hope to see him soon on the score board, because so far no wins in one-week majors feels like an anomaly.

Well it would be typical Remco to complete the hour record in less than an hour.

    European Championship 2025: Men’s ITT, October 1

Talk about double standards. Merckx has 11 Grand Tours and 19 monuments. Pogacar is not even half way, yet a lot of people consider him the GOAT. But when we talk about TT, Remco's achievements fall short against a 9x GP des nations winner (yes I know it was the unofficial WCTT).

If gravity is weaker, then how could Remco's saddle drop??

Don't take the end of the 2023 season as a reference. After the covid DNF at the Giro, the main focus was on the WCTT which was held in mid August which meant that his Vuelta prep was poor compared to the year before (weight!). Basically, after the WCTT he was dragging himself to the end of...

I'm no sports scientist, but i assume not all cramps are equal. Cramps due to dehydration is likely game over. Cramps due to a wrong position on the bike, could be stretched out when back in the normal position.

    Decide for yourself: ECC climb: 1,6km @ 9,9% Mur de Huy: 1,4km @ 9,7% La Redoute: 2km @ 8,8%

This very much a Mur of Huy (albeit with a lower max gradient). Pogacar definitely has the edge here. But Remco's shape is currently a lot better than at the Fleche Wallonne. Looking forward to it (and hoping both remain healthy after the return from Rwanda).

The feeling of being done injustice is a driver for Remco, no doubt. Hence his reaction after the mechanicals. But if he's beaten fair and square, he definitely is able to accept his losses. He was very humble after being no match to Pogacar and Vingegaard in last year's Tour.
