I would be surprised if he's practising the Ramadan. He was drinking during the race for certain. His allergies will pick up in early summer though during dauphiné. Nothing to be done about that probably.

I think his supper body could lose some muscle/weight. Maybe he's naturally stocky and not much can be done, but that is were the biggest gain can be made in a healthy way imo.

I will not lie and pretend i did not expect more from remco this UAE Tour. I expected Del toro to be really good here. (aside from some questions surrounding a multiple mountain climb stage, i already have him as a genuine GT contender, i would pick him ahead of Almeida if i'm the boss at UAE)...

In remco thread it was posted he did around the same time now on this climb as he did 3 year ago when he finished 2nd. In his mind, he might have thought that would be good enough. Clearly it wasn't. Cycling gotten faster.

Surely he's got the base covered this time around. It's the building on top that seems only half build atm. I find it strangely encouraging he was not good enough this time around as well.

He's got this year to prove himself imo. if he does not perform when nothing extra happens, than it's time to go back to the drawing board and rethink things.

I will say this, i do believe Remco will get at least one real chance to win the Tour. Unfortunately that don't mean he'll be able to take it. I had genuine believe in Jurgen Van Den Broeck for a legit shot at the Tour during 2011. Only for him to crash on stage 9.
