Yeah, this climb is really too easy for a MTT but thanks to it maybe Teddy won't crush the competition and the gap will be moderate (read: under a minute). Mt Ventoux time trial would be epic.

If he wins this Tour he will probably not change his spring schedule: an all-out attack on the monuments.

It would be an interesting plot twist, wouldn't it?

It definitely looks like Pogi can distance the second guy by a minute at least (again I didn't expect such a gap before but today changed everything). If Vingo gets better tomorrow maybe he can limit his losses to 40 seconds or so or...maybe not.

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

Ventoux is very prestigious. It used to be the hardest climb in Tour history (until Loze'2020) and it's the most legendary. If Pogi wants to win any stage remaining it's this one.

But maybe Vingo will be better tomorrow. Trying to match Pogacar's pace (after his surge) cost him at the end.

Maybe at least Vingo will take revenge next year and win Flandres + Liege. His explosivity is getting better while Teddy is slowly but surely turning into a diesel, right? :p

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 12: Auch - Hautacam (180.6k)

Agreed. If Vingegaard can't regain his absolutely top form (or even more than that) all stage races with Pogacar will be so predictable that it's scary. Vingegaard is an outlier in his own right and it may take a long time before anyone of his climbing calibre appears. Pogacar's decline could...

Yeah, maybe you are right but I'm not sure he's better than Lipo today (if he's not Pogi's dom OFC)

I'm not asking about some 2014 but how many guys would do better than Lipowitz & Vingo today? Maybe inform S.Yates, who else?

Is he the third best climber in the world right now? Could he have won the Giro in this form? Interesting questions. If the progress continues he may become the 2nd best climber soon.

It was. Not only according to calculation guys but also Pogacar itself.

Pogacar can attack so early that hilly specialists (Narvaez + Wellens) are enough to pace the bottom of the climb (and job is done).

He should be ahead of Pogacar with just 8 km to go. Probably will defend himself well on the last, short section but Pogi has a small chance too.

Teams & Riders Jonas Vingegaard thread: Love in Iberia

Good prediction. At that time I still suspected it was a day off. Vingo is clearly missing sth in longer efforts while his explosivity is better (but way less important in a GT)
