Remco after hiking down with Oumi on his back:

Remco is an aerobic monster. Hiking 12-15 km through some snow (with 200-300 meters up) to a lower elevation town is a joke for him (he's not like a normal tourist). If Oumi doesn't want it Remco can carry her, at least some challenge for him!

Remco can descend by bike from Teide Caldera to the airport in less than an hour ;) If some road fragment is damaged or blocked, one can hike down, it's easy in this direction :p

Milan San Remo, March 21, 2026, 298 km monument

2025 was great, surely (I think the best I remember). There was a long action with no certainty what will happen. But obviously it's good to have diversity so I don't mind if every MSR edition has a different scenario.

Tailwind = higher speed = lower resistive force (given constant power) = considerably lower wind resistance (gravity and rolling resistance constant) = considerably lower % of power needed to overcome the wind = drafting making smaller difference To sum up, when it's strong tailwind one saves...

Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Imagine Rogla winning this MSR after years of Pogacar's failed attacks. It would be kinda Tour 2020 reversed.

Milan San Remo, March 21, 2026, 298 km monument

It's very hard to predict exact wind in coastal areas where there are cliffs etc (so sea influence can fade quickly). My point is that last year there was a strong, favourable wind field in the whole area from Genoa to Nice. While this year the wind will be much weaker (and non-favourable or...

Milan San Remo, March 21, 2026, 298 km monument

Last year conditions on Cipressa were exceptionally good for attacking: 20-25 kph E or NE wind. It's not the case this year. Plus there won't be a better leadout than last year (it could if Narvaez and Wellens were present). To sum up, Cipressa chances look very small this year. I would think...

Depending who'd MVP competition. He won't just deliver other fast guys to the finish (so there could be a moment of hesitation). Attack in the very finale can work if Pogacar still has some power left (no furious attacks before) but obviously it's hard as he's watched by everybody.

Not strong, 10 kph. Still, it's complicating things regarding Cipressa attack. Maybe they'll have to count on tailwind sections of Poggio (with double UAE attack) or ...on the last 2 km. Likely Teddy hitting against the wall , volume 5

Teddy is hoping he's bulked up enough for the cobbles to nuke the sprint tomorrow.

Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

I remember Quintana being hailed as the future of cycling in 2013, when he already looked 50. He hasn't changed at all since then. Adios legend! It's sad he's never won the Tour.

Imagine Teddy attacks from the gun and does a 300 km winning solo, the longest possible. Comments after the race: Tadej: Wind and triple porridge helped me today. I dedicate this victory to my teammates, who had a party yesterday so I didn't want to tire them even more. Mauro: Nothing is...

Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

I think it depends how he feels after the Tour (as usually). If he's not gassed and fed up with cycling then who knows.
