You don't need to play the teacher here. It's a protest, yeah, and part of it is clearly wrong (the violent part). Not for the ideal behind it, which I fully agree with, but for the way it has been done. It aims at the wrong people, the rider, in the wrong way, harming them, while doing nothing...
