Best ever single season by a rider?

Although not among the absolute best, Jalabert 1995 deserves a mention at least. Winning Sanremo, Fleche Wallone, Paris- Nice, Criterium International, Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and the Vuelta, where he won 5 stages, GC, mountain and points jerseys. Outside of that he won a ton of other stages...

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Re: Re: Ýou're joking right? Mollema had a completely normal progression, won the Tour de L'Avenir as an espoir...finished 12th in his first GT. Besides, Froome absolutely crushes him these days, despite showing far less talent at a young age.

    Van Avermaet going down?

Who's to say that Van Avermaet wouldn't be a decent domestique if clean, and the only reason he has so many good placings is because he is doping?

    Van Avermaet going down?

Well, rumour, he has been charged, that's hardly a rumour. He hasn't been convicted yet of course, I wonder how they're going to prove he actually broke the no-needle policy, that could be hard. I don't think it has been reported before here, but two cyclocross riders have been charged as well...

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

We're going to be seeing a lot of ridiculous performances this year. But now with two aliens battling it out, at least we will see a fight. Will be interesting to see if Nibali can duel it out with them.

Will Contador Be Juiced Up Again Upon His Return

Dan Martin being clean isn't incompatible with the peloton still being dirty (at the top). Guys like Hamilton have told in the past that the biggest advantage of doping was recovery during a GT. Add to that that other drugs that are likely popular now (AICAR) mostly have to do with limiting...

    The revenge of Rasmussen ...

Statute of limitations concerns the time since the offense, not the time since the relevant facts are known. I think even those evil dopers have a right to a trial at a reasonable time after their offense is known, 18 months after a television confession clearly is not. If they wanted to ban...

    The revenge of Rasmussen ...

That's hardly something to brush aside though...probably enough to result in a biopassport ban these days. But it's true there is probably little they have to hang Dekker on, then again, that guy might as well be invisible these days, can't remember the last time I saw an interview with him...

    Il Lombardia 2014

I don't remember where I read it, but from what I understand, it has to do with the fact that RCS wants the Giro D'Italia to be the only race with the word Giro in the name, for brand purposes. That's why Giro di Lombardia became Il Lombardia, Giro Di Lazio became Roma Maxima and the Giro Del...

When is the smackdown on Chris Horner?

Far from a medic, so please correct me, but why would you use cortisone to treat bronchitis? Wouldn't antibiotics make more sense? It seemed pretty dangerous either way, if lowered cortisol levels are a predictable result from using cortisone, why even use it if you know it could result in...

    Kreuziger going down?

Oleg is doing the impossible, making his team look even less likeable than Sky.

2014 Tour de France, Stage 9: Gerardmer – Mulhouse: 170km

Martin 1st, Cancellara 2nd, Dumoulin 4th, looks like the result from an ITT :p

    2014 Tour de France, Stage 8: Tomblaine – Gerardmer/La Mauselaine: 161km

I think it'll be okay. The first climb is long enough that you don't have to start with the first 10, and those first two climbs should be enough to make the group small enough for the final climb.
