The heat is a serious issue. At this point I literally wouldn't rule out anyone in the top 20 as a potential winner as crazy as that sounds. The rest of the way there are almost no breaks and nasty stages up ahead. This is going to end up as one of the most brutal Vueltas of all time.

I could see Stuyven given his experience and that he's completed lots of races greater than 250km. Van Gils for sure as he's had great results this year. Hermans was there in Wollongong and Olympic RR so that may be more of a comfort feel not to mention his second at Liege in 2022 De Lie was...

It's not really an issue of consideration it's more an issue of the more veteran established riders and the type of course. It's not impossible but given that Belgium has such a strong grouping of riders that are more experienced It's hard to see him making the team unless the older riders...

I understand people having questions about Remco's dominance in juniors translating to pro peleton, but it's his 6th year riding in pro peleton and he keeps winning by breaking away in long one day races. Sure luck plays a role in every race, but to say Remco got lucky in the Olympic Road race...

It isn't actually for people who have ADHD. It has the opposite effect. It basically slows everything down for someone with ADD/ADHD.

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

There are a million and one things that can happen that are bad luck that can prevent you from competing so to skip it is a massive red flag. The Olympics are a big deal because they occur only once in four years and its importance has increased because pros weren't allowed up until the last...

Remco is improved but nowhere as much as you think. He was pulling 6.5 w/kg at the tour of Norway in 2022. for 30 minute 23 second climb and did the last half of the climb at 6.85. w/kg

Not my problem when you cannot read graphs from links that you post. You literally said 3rd best climb of the 21st centruy and that is not true. Do not not see the curve on the bottom graph and notice the blue dot that's way above the Remco dot? That's literally far above Remco's...

A talent that only comes around once in a generation. Ironically there are two currently. I do not count Jonas because he doesn't win important one day races.

I have no idea why this continues to be parrotted as some sort of truth when it is incredibly disingenious and not even correct . Guess people are just going to ignore Basso on Mont Bondone in 2006. It's not even the third best climbing performance of the last weekend, but somehow people can't...

There's an asymptotic ceiling on improvement the better you get the less room there is too improve, I'm not sure how much more Pogacar can improve at this point. He already looks like a skeleton. Remco is much thinner than he has been but he still has more weight to lose to look like a...

Because 2010-2019 didn't have generational talents.

It's reasonable to see someone break Pantani's time 25 years later when looking at advances in the bikes as well as nutrition. It's not unreasonable that one of the best cycling talent of the last 25 years or more who can climb would beat Pantani's time by 1.6% over a 25 year span in constrast...

No reason to attack, he needs to use a little energy as possible to conserve his podium as the Olympic ITT is a bigger target.
