Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Let people bash Contador for his performance today, we'll see how things go in July. Once again, the only thing I hope for is no crashes.

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Last year Vuelta can't be compared to 2014's. In 2014 he was in an amazing shape in the Tour and he managed to mantain that form during the Vuelta. The situation this year was different, he abandoned the Tour with fever, and he didn't recover as well from the season effort. That is probably the...

Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

I mean overrated not overestimated hehe. About Quintana, the beach thing was a reference to Alberto Contador in case you guys didn't notice.

Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

Quintana is an overestimated rider. He was acknowledgely supposed to be some kind of Messiah of modern cycling and so far the only 2 Grand Tours he has won, he has someone other than himself to thank for. What the hell did Movistar think? That he could just come from the beach into the Giro and...

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

I'm sorry but saying Quintana will podium in this Tour and Contador won't is a joke. Contador in his peak wasn't able to achieve the double. Quintana is like 2 steps below the best Contador we've seen. It's not even debatable.

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

I think people have dismissed Contador because these last few years he hasn't really been able to compete in TdF. That doesn't mean he does not have the legs anymore. Let's refresh our minds a bit: 2014 - couldnt compete in the tour, crashed. Arguably best form ever. Couldnt prove it. 2015 -...

    Critérium du Dauphiné 2017 (04/06 > 11/06/2017)

How do you guys reckon Froome will make it to the Dauphine? Sharp or lil' chubby?

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

I doubt Alberto will completely shy away from racing in Dauphine, I think he's just trying to take the pressure of himself: if he surprises himself into stellar form then he will compete, if not then everything will be more or less "according to plan." Anyway this recent trend to limit MTF's in...

Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

If Quintana - the world's best climber - goes blank this year (which rather seems the case) I call failure. Again.

    Clasica San Sebastián 30/7 - 220.2 km

Valverde and Purito get along nicely. But "some" will never forget Florence 2013.

    Teams & Riders Team Movistar-thread

Quintana will do the Vuelta it seems, despite his unwillingness to go. On the other hand Froome seems ever so happy to return to the race every now and then.

The Olympic Road Race 2016. Rio de Janeiro. 253km

The Olympic Road Race 2016. Rio de Janeiro. 253km

Colombia has no chance imho. Great climbers, but no good on the flat, easily chased down by the rest.

The Olympic Road Race 2016. Rio de Janeiro. 253km

Re: Fixed that for you. My bet is on Valverde or Nibali. Whoever wins needs the power in the legs for the flat finale.

Rate the 2016 Tour de France

Valverde is sometimes contempt with keeping his place. He is a classy rider but I hate his mentality at times. Perhaps Nairo's cowardice is related?
