We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
If anyone has not yet watched the GCN Racing broadcast of Tour de la Provence, I'd really recommend giving it a chance. Kirby and Dan Lloyd are a great pair, although I am one of those (few?) who genuinely enjoy Kirby's commentary.
I think it is difficult to say whether Froome is really so bad at one day races or if he has not really targeted them. Most of his results come from before his transition to one of the greatest GC riders in recent memory. And he did finish 12 in the previous Olympics, alongside Thomas and ahead...
Here is the article mentioned above.
Could Bora go to the Giro with the goal of stage wins for Ackermann and the points jersey for Sagan? Is this similar to Sky showing up with two leaders and supporting each? Ackermann fighting for stages with more leadout support theoretically could happen...
I know this team did not break any records last season but it seems strange to say Breschel's 12th at Sanremo was one of their best results.
Simon Clarke has been had some surprisingly high placings so far, and overall this was a much better start to the season then before. They had six...

We cannot fault a rider for the quality of their competition, you can only beat the riders next to you at the start.
In any case, Cav was (and maybe will be again) dominant enough and versatile enough that it should not matter. As highly as people rate the Tour Cav has more wins than anyone...
Not to get too imaginative but I think people may be underrating his chances at RVV (or at least overrating Nibali's cobbled ability for comparison). For the Don to win it would not even need to be the most perfect of conditions, though he does have less ways to win that race that many...
Can we really say obvious decline when looking at the past few years? It doesn't feel right to pass judgement on his abilities given the amount of bad luck crashes and of course the Epstein Barr Virus. DD will be able to compose not the best train, but a very good one; and one filled with riders...
