Living only a couple of hours away from the course affords me a privilege that most aren't able to enjoy so, for me, Camphin ev Pevele through Gruson is the hardest part of the course...

    Re: It's iconic and spectacular but overhyped imo as far as the race is concerned. For us mere mortals though, I agree that it's an almost spiritual experience to ride (gripping the bars tightly is DEFINITELY not recommended). Carrefour is a far more difficult secteur - bigger cobbles, more...

    Re: Stybar had an equal chance to win in 2013 (albeit no Tom that year). There's no way he's stopping for anybody if that scenario repeats itself on Sunday and Lefevre is pragmatic enough to not let emotions jeopardise a podium placing.

    Re: Re: Indeed. My objection is Kirby's insistence of repeated use of the nickname to the exclusion of Durbridge's actual name. It's not the first time; a couple of seasons ago he did the same with Stannard [Yogi]. It made Saturday's commentary sound sycophantic.

    Re: Re: I have no similar recent experience. Over the last 20 years, modern brakes, pads and rims have served just fine in all seasons and conditions.

    Re: Re: The only mod needed for winter riding here in the UK is a set of mudguards [fenders]. Mechanical gears and calipers work just fine year round.
