    Liggettisms TDF 2011

A couple of days ago Phil informed us that Chavanel was struggling because he had 'crashed quite hardly' the day before. Today they have predicted Millar to outclimb Evans and take yellow.

Cheers, had a brief look to see if there was already a thread but didn't spot it.

Velogames Fantasy Tour de France 2011

Anyone else signed up this year? Could have a CN mini league if people are up for it... http://www.velogames.com/tdf11index.php

which rider can't you stand and you don't like in the peloton??

I'll make a distinction between riders I don't want to see win because of the way they come across, and those whom I don't want to see win because I don't enjoy the way they race, e.g. too dominant, too conservative (Leipheimer). The first category includes Ricco, Di Luca, Cancellara and Andy...

    Official National Championships thread

Did Wiggo actually deign to put the jersey on this time? (There's another one with the jersey slung over his shoulder but I can't find it at the moment). Shame that G couldn't retain it but great result nonetheless.

    Xavier Tondo RIP

I remember reading that he drove himself 1500 km through the night to get to Amstel Gold last year, when everyone else was making excuses for themselves; admired him a lot ever since. RIP Xavier, I know you'll be missed by all of us.

The rider's tribute ride to a colleague and friend: Giro d'Italia Stage 4

Thank you for posting this, I'm glad to know that he didn't suffer much. I'll admit that, initially, I was one of those who wondered if it wouldn't be better to honour Wouter by racing as normal; I doubted that he'd want some funereal procession in his name. However, having watched today's...

Gap now down to 10 mins according to the cyclingnews live coverage. I'd like to see Cunego win today.

Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco Stage 1: Zumarraga - Zumarraga 150km

Good start to one of my favourite races. Glad Sammy showed something today, was a little worried after Catalunya. What do people think was up with Leopard? Setting it up for Frank to attack on the last climb only to find it much to steep for him?

Garmin biggest cowards in today peloton

Yeah i know, guess I was basing it on what I was expecting them to have achieved by this point (very little) as opposed to the results they have generated. Much better than expected (at least as they stand at the moment). Perhaps, but, as others have said, with the calibre of riders they...

Garmin biggest cowards in today peloton

I dunno about that. If Dave Brailsford's Cycle Sport interview is anything to go by then some of the team bosses put a lot of store in cq rankings. Agree with your main point though, compared to plenty of teams - even Saxo - Garmin have def started the season with a whimper.
