    Dura-Ace built in power meters

From what I have seen on the previews of the Dura Ace 9100 group the power meter is available in both the electronic and mechanical versions and no head unit is being released but the power meter is both blue tooth and ANT+ compatible so any head unit can be used.

    Dura-Ace built in power meters

Re: Re: There is no doubt that my improvements have been a result of more structured training, but the power meter has contributed to that increase in structure and that is my point. Sure heart rate is a good indicator but it has limitations as many things can influence your heart rate outside...

    Dura-Ace built in power meters

I have found a power meter as an invaluable tool for training, more than a heart rate monitor ever was. The power meter gives a real time indication of training load and the level of effort during intervals where a heart rate monitor has a considerable delay and is a better indicator of the load...

    2016 TdF, Stage 12: Montpellier → Mont Ventoux (178km)

For those that carried on like I was a fool and inventing rules when I criticised Quintana for profiting out of the misfortune of the yellow jersey and and another GC contender. "Normally when you see a big GC guy in trouble the gentleman thing to do would be to stop and wait and regroup,"...

    2016 TdF, Stage 12: Montpellier → Mont Ventoux (178km)

By the wording it does not rule out running part of the course without a bike as long as you cross the line with one.

Re: Re: No there is no written rule but it is a long standing rule of etiquette and to intentionally benefit out of a incident of misfortune like this is considered poor form, at least it used to be until cycling started losing it traditions.

    2016 TdF, Stage 12: Montpellier → Mont Ventoux (178km)

Re: Re: Not holding hands, thanks for being condescending. He could have waited for him and not gained on his misfortune. It has been done in cycling many times and is the respectful thing to do. He had no right to be in front of Froome or Porte. I also don't understand why a number of Sky...

    2016 TdF, Stage 12: Montpellier → Mont Ventoux (178km)

Re: Because the whole situation would not have occurred if the race organisers had not stuffed up and only erected barriers for the last few 100 metres. Even the race winner stated he did not know where the finish was because there were no crowd barriers. Normally the barriers start a few km...

    11 speed chain recommendations?

Re: Re: I may give the campy chain another go next time I am due one if for no other reason than keeping the bike "pure". I find the KMC runs with less noise than the campagnolo record but the derailleur is more fiddly to tune as the KMC is slightly wider the the campagnolo meaning there is...

    My dumpster find :-)

One of the issues with a bike of this vintage with a 7 spd rear is the hub will have to be modified to take a later groupset. Not sure if my memory is correct but the move to 9 speed required a wider rear hub spacing (or was it 8 speed). So a longer axle, potentially a new cassette body and the...

Shimano UN55 into Steel BB Shell.

From memory the ultegra spec of the same year had a metal non drive side cup. Looking at the pic of the time in your link it is a metal cup.

    11 speed chain recommendations?

I am running 2015 campag record 11 spd but due to the difficult to live with Campag joining pin I am not running the chain (I know I am a heathen). I am running a KMC 11L and I have to admit is ti s a nice running chain. Runs very smooth with less noise than the Campag record 11 and the joining...

    clinchers v tubs Clinchers win

Re: Re: Definitely not an observation I have made of the many people that I know in the sport. I would say a large proportion do come from a cycling background, many more than those from a swimming background. In non drafting events considerable advantages are gained on the bike. Anyway way...

To convert a 10sp hub to 11spd hub?

Re: Re: Very true, why would they want to keep producing spares because if they did we would not buy newer models from them.

Nope, cyclist. Road racing with my strength being the time trial. I only changed to triathlon as it was better for all round fitness and strength whilst I was in the army. In all tri's my swim was crap and normally exited in the mid to lower section of the field, my bike was devastating and I...
