We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
I would love it if one of those guys could provide some excitement today. Considering how aggressively the Colombian team has raced I'd say at least they're likely to try something. The problem is that today isn't hard enough. Plus, I think the rest of the teams are going to be riding...
It may be stupid for them not to attack today but that's modern tactics. They're all waiting for the finish on Baldy, and even then I don't think we'll see to many fireworks, just a bunch of guys watching each other.
Seems like it's essentially 4 vs 4 right now with Anthony sitting on the first group and Danielson, Acevedo, and Louder sitting on the chase. I guess Tommy D and Louder are counting on the catch from behind.
One of my team mates back in the '80s actually rode right through the barricade at the turn-around of an out-and-back TT. This guy was no slouch either. He placed top 10 on road and TT in the Men's division numerous times.
I agree. I also don't see how this ban will stand up in court. How can you be eligible for every other race on the calendar except for the nationals? It makes no sense.
Gifting stages really makes a mockery of this noble sport. I'd much rather that things were settled with payouts between the DS's like it's always been.
I liked the fake attack right after the 1K banner. It allowed him to sit up and get a good position at the back for the sprint. As for Visconti, he was all over the road and has no one but himself to blame for getting squeezed into the barrier. I think he'll watch the replay and be embarrassed.
"Well, Landis has a trial on his hands. He must prove his words in court.”
Did I miss something or is he's implying that the UCI is still planning to sue Landis over his comments from last year? I thought papers had never been filed.
If he doesn't have to sit in a "time out" for the next two years I would say it's possible for him to be one of the greatest ever. I think the doping controls of the past few years have made the gains more marginal and the results are at least a little more believable. Personally, I wouldn't...
My comment was unrelated to whether or not Pinotti is clean or not, although I can see where that insinuation can be made. My point is that by marginalizing the doping in the past he makes it appear that he didn't consider it a problem at the time. If supposed clean riders don't care that they...
It is interesting that he talks about his disdain for DiLuca and the hypocrisy of that situation, but he's way too dismissive of the past. Here's a guy who has been overshadowed by dopers his entire career and ostensibly has lost tons of results (and salary) because of doping. Why isn't he...
