    Jonas Vingegaard: Something is Rotten

Yes. So long as the same body both polices AND promotes the sport you will never have credible testing. The UCI is proven to have been corrupt on numerous occasions. Testing has to be in the hands of a completely autonomous body. Here (the UK) a few years ago one of our most respected...

    Jonas Vingegaard: Something is Rotten

Me neither. I thought Pog's 2020 ITT was blatant enough but this is in a different league. I've been following pro cycling for 40 years and I've rarely seen a performance like this that's so obviously chemically assisted. What Ving did was inhuman.

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

And not forgetting the greatest of all his post 2012 achievements, his Knowsley Safari Park ITT triumph :D, which is what the joke 2013 Tour of Britain effectively came down to.

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

Froome is finished as a Tour contender. Thomas sure as Hell won't be leaving Sky now. He'll be team leader for next year's Tour and Froome will have the same unenviable choice Wiggins had - either be prepared to play a support role or lump it. I can't see a four time Tour/six time GT winner...

The Women's Road Racing Thread 2017

Re: Agreed. Very pleased she won. Armitstead Deignan as usual blaming others when things don't go to plan. I think Vaughters was spot on about her. And Van Vleuten, for that matter: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cycling/2016/10/04/world-cup-2022-warning-as-uci-says-it-may-need-to-shorten-doha-w/

Peter Sagan vs. Mark Cavendish. Who has the best palmares.

Re: Noone said it did. Simply widening the discussion to include something which, as I said, some may wish to consider. Thank you for your constructive contribution though.

Peter Sagan vs. Mark Cavendish. Who has the best palmares.

Re: I think the age gap is just one reason why it's ridiculous to compare the two. The Manx Moaner is coming towards the end of his career whereas Sagan hopefully has many more years left. Another factor some may wish to consider is how much importance should be placed on how a professional...

Men Elite Road Race - UCI RWC Doha 2016

Re: Re: Agreed. About two hundred metres further on at the next right hander you can clearly see him rounding the corner having just made it on to the back of the first echelon.

Men Elite Road Race - UCI RWC Doha 2016

I would have thought it was self explanatory but clearly not for some people. Saying a win is way overrated is some climbdown from saying it is worthless, so which is it? If further clarification is required which, having had a brief look at some of your recent posts, it might well be, don't...

Men Elite Road Race - UCI RWC Doha 2016

:D Make your mind up, is it worthless or way overrated? The guy's already a legend and his career still has a long way to go - get used to it. Also Cavendish yet again blaming his teammate in defeat - classy as usual from the Manx Moaner (Brit here btw).

    Tennis

Has there been any more news about this since Nadal said he was suing the French politician back in April for accusing him of serving a silent ban? I would have thought we would have heard something unless it was just bully boy posturing by Nadal...

    Olympic MTB Race

Re: I think that's the key thing. Riding with a flat for several minutes will have taken a hell of a lot out of him. Sagan was looking great until his first puncture. Some people were saying before the race he wouldn't even be able to move up from last through the field to get anyway near...

My thoughts too. He certainly seems to be getting off very lightly here

    The Armitstead doping thread.

I think Pooley's actions on Sunday made it pretty clear what she thinks of Armitstead. Was sort of hoping she would do an 'Armitstead' on Armitstead on the final climb and fly past her without allowing her to get on her wheel. Payback for Glasgow 2014. Probably best she saved a bit for today though.
