BroDeal.... I am not suggesting that they "lay down". I agree that there should be a Palestinian state and that conditions in Gaza need to be improved. If their elected government (Hamas) put their energy in to building a peaceful society then they would get support for their state...

Amsterhammer.... I agree with everything you said. The problem is that both sides have to stop the shooting and actually want to have peace.

You know what else is "sort of funny"; how the "prisoners" got their hands on hundreds of rockets that they're firing at civilians.

    What Happens Next?

What happens next is nothing. The show goes on. The people getting hit are retired or in the twilight of their career. Lance is 41. To the young riders coming up he and USPS are ancient history. While it's great that the truth is coming out, I don't think it will change the future. As long...

If EPO is safe, why doesn't the human body naturally produce more?

It's because natural selection is for improving survival, not winning bike races.

Snowboard Helmet as Winter Bike Helmet?

Thanks for the replies. I currently have a Giro E2 that I wear with an Arcteryx liner and it's very warm. The helmet is quite old and should be replaced and doesn't fit goggles well. Most of the time I wear normal glasses, but I find when it snows only goggles really protect my eyes. Murray

Snowboard Helmet as Winter Bike Helmet?

So, thinking of using a snowboard helmet for winter commuting below -10C in snow because it's warm and holds goggle nicely. Will it give the same protection? I found that snowboard helmets are ASTM F2040 and bike helmets are ASTM F1447 but can't find if they are similar or which standard is...

    Is Armstrong a psychopath?

Unless you are a psychiatric professional and interviewed the subject to make this diagnosis, you have no basis to make these claims.

No longer a Lance fanboy thread

I agree.... we should learn from the past. However, I doubt the how's, where's, and what's of 2011 and beyond are not the same as they were in the late 1990's and early 2000's.

No longer a Lance fanboy thread

If only that were true. Cycling is addressing the problems it used to have. The riders involved are either retired or in the twilight of their careers. In the meantime a rider who has tested positive is leading the Giro. Instead of focusing on what happened 10 years ago they should address...

    Gran Fondo San Diego

So, if I understand your point, you would like a ride that is longer than a century but not quite as hard as a race?

    Gran Fondo San Diego

To quote snobbery... "You do not have to be that fit to do a hundred miles. Centuries are full of punters who are thirty pounds overweight that have no problem with the distance." Just because someone is overweight doesn't make them a "punter", and really, fitness is relative. I find, in...

You've hit it right on. I am going down to NYC for GFNY in May. No, I am not superfit. Yes, I could stand to lose a few pounds. But I'm a medical resident with huge work commitments, a wife and two kids so excuse me if I don't have a 26" waist and ride 10,000km per week. The whole idea is...
