    Krebs' Free form/Chaos Thread

Re: Free form/Chaos Thread For years I've loved lurking on this forum and this thread in particular, mainly thanks to the great posts by Krebs, so if this is it then I would like to say thank you very much to Krebs303 for so many brilliant pics and whatnot.

    How dirty is SaxoBank-Tinkoff?

I know about the whole not having a TT bike to train on and it was certainly a poor move by AG2R. But still, he's had the equipment when he needed it to race and I'm a bit skeptical of the idea that a bit of practice and a day in a wind tunnel makes that big a difference. Shaving a few seconds...

    How dirty is SaxoBank-Tinkoff?

Yeah, fair point. I have always thought it was more a mental thing with him, maybe a combination of poor pacing (although with power meters the norm this should be easily recitified) and lack of focus. Some guys need a hill to get the last 2% out, some guys can just hold a number no matter what...

    How dirty is SaxoBank-Tinkoff?

I don't agree here. I think he's had some important ones before and fluffed it. I can see him slowly getting climbing legs over the years at the expense of his sprint (he's still not a climber, just manages to hang on for longer) but his TT has always been poor considering his engine. This, as...

    How dirty is SaxoBank-Tinkoff?

Nothing, I think that is the point. He has had an easy tour for the first time in a few years so looks to be a little fresher for the Vuelta instead.

Power Data Estimates for the climbing stages

Roche's stage 2 Vuelta win, SRM data for stage: of any interest, given the recent change of team and sucess it appears to be bringing? http://www.srm.de/news/road-cycling/vuelta-a-espana-stage-2/

    Cleanest Rider/Team Of The 90s- Early/Mid 00s

Jaan Kirsipuu, who knows, but his compatriot Janek Tombak was a guy a few other riders singled out as being clean. In a thread here a couple of years back Darryl Webster said he heard (from a little birdie) that Boardman microdosed. Don't believe it myself. He dropped a lot of weight to get...

This is Sean Kelly steering with his feet; your argument is invalid.

The Symbolic Politics of Pat McQuaid

Some interesting footage of Pat McQuaid in this, its a program about the tour coming to Ireland in 1998 and includes some stuff on the festina fun that went down (on irish tv website so may not play in your area...) http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10092326/

The Roche Family and Irish Cycling

Didn't Guido Bontempi, Roche's teammate on 87 tour team, test positive for testosterone during the 87 tour? I think it more likely that Carrera were doing team-wide "hormone balancing"; too early for EPO though.

Wasn't Scanlon, it was Ciaran Power. Mark was offered a spot but they folded before he joined up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciar%C3%A1n_Power http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Scanlon_%28cyclist%29
