Tbf it wasn’t the hardest competition. He’s one of the best classics riders facing the likes of ballerini, trentin and a cooked Tadej. In the end it was a walk in the park for him.
Remco is a weird one. Apart from Tadej, he is probably the most talented rider in the peloton. Yet you always have the feeling that it’s not quite coming together. Maybe a change of environment will be good, but I have a feeling he will retire young
I have always had a soft spot for pure climbers. My favourite getting into cycling was probably Igor Anton and Piepoli (until it became obvious).
These days it's whoever dare to make the race.
