We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
Hopefully Cavendish wins, but fear it could be Sagan. Kittel is the most likely to get dropped of the sprinters, Giant shimano is tactically inept in crosswinds
compared to OPQS, plus he is more prone to being dropped on climbs than Cvndsh. Griepel has gone awol since the beginning of the year...
Changed mind from Uran to Quintana, he is looks better at the end of a stage than all other gc riders, the only one who looks as fresh as him is the winner in the last 2 stages anyway.
Going strong now but time will tell-will proabably go into gc freefall once Uran and Quintana turn up the screws. Think Uran is the most likely winner myself.
More likely to drop off the gc group rather than have them bolt away-at some stage of the race. A little boring compared to the 2011...
Has to win 1 grand tour, before a double or treble.
Will do none of the above, over rated as anyone in world sport right now.
Too inconsistent, and just like Frank Schleck before his ban, prone to a bad
day in the mountains.
Aside from the contaminated meat theory, he could argue Clenbuterol is not performance enhancing. But I do know someone who can squat 350lbs, bench press 340 and could quite simply snap an S-works frame with his bare hands.
Though on the serious side, why compete in such insignificant races in...
Yeh probably did not read the Q properly, it was "club" crits.
It seems as though Caleb Ewan has everyones measure here, so long as someone else chases the breakaway-like Renshaw in the NSW GP race.
But as far as crits go, the toughest would be the stage 6 of the TdU.
It is 90kays, with a...
Crit racers finish a Grand Tour at least 3 hours behind the leader and are at least an hour behind the leader after the first week, even if it is flat.
No mater how hard a crit. race, the leader is the king of slipstream for the race.
Compared to Wiggins,Cavendish,Tony Martin and Cancellara...
He will not finish, and will not be a threat on any of the climbs, will just do what his team has done for every other TDF most of the time and suck wheel.
Other than BMC, his team does less work than any other in chasing downbreak aways and driving the peleton.
Will vie for honours with...

so the Ozzies got one up on us in the Team Pursuit, but so what, it was still close and it is only one event of many-did not expect to win anyway.
Great that Hoy won gold in kieren and sprint bet he was glad he did not have to face Sireau. Surely the failure of the men in the sprint must be a...
yeh it appears Albasini has serious hills cred, probably the best rider there.
Tour de Suisse success only happens to great climbers Samuel Sanchez, Landis etc. and being a past Phonak member helps !
Would not put Meyer twins in the same cat. Bunyingyong and Gorge Rd
are no Galibier- would...

'The problem is that if they get WT status they would be forced to ride races like Liège–Bastogne–Liège which is why some of us are complaining about their sprint/cobbled strategy. It wouldn't be a problem if they were pro continental but as a WT team you have to race all WT...
