    Giro d'Italia Giro d’Italia 2025: Post-Race Rating Poll

7/10. Best giro in several years. Since 2019 perhaps. Three really good GC stages, and some pretty good breakway stages. But there was just too little GC action on too few stages to rate it any better than 7.

    Critérium du Dauphiné 2025, June 8 - 15

I think that climbs like Croix de Fer, Galibier and AdH should be more or less "banned" from CD. I am more open to Madeleine as long as the climb the south side, either for a MTF at Longchamp 1600 or a descent and a MTF at Valmorel. Stages I like in the later years was Megeve in 2020, the Coux...

    Critérium du Dauphiné 2025, June 8 - 15

I am not very fan of stage 7 either. The combo of at least two of Galibier, Croix de Fer and Madeleine feels very overused. I neither think they need to go into the higher climbs in CD. I thinkg they should mainly concentrate the mountain stages to the mountains just north (Chartreuse) and...

    Critérium du Dauphiné 2025, June 8 - 15

A more or less *** route. I understand them wanting to make it not too difficult not scare away some of the riders preparing for the Tour, but they could have done something better than this. Stage 6 and 8 is awful.

Giro d'Italia Giro D'italia 2025 Stage 16: Piazzola sul Brenta – San Valentino

Excellent stage. Perhaps the best Giro stage since Torino 2022 or Torri di Fraele 2020.

    Giro d'Italia Giro d‘Italia 2025 Stage 7, Castel di Sangro-Tagliacozzo, 168k

I didn't follow the stage yesterday, but Hindley was DNF. Which other GC contenders crashed so hard that it makes them less likely to perform for this Giro?

    Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025: Stage-by-stage analysis

With the finish in Rome and both a sterrato stage and a stage including San Pellegrino in Alpe. And a Finestre-Sestriere stage, they should really have done what I think @railmix suggested once. A finish like this: Stage 20: Sterrato stage Stage 21: Rome finish Here you could also add a stage...

    Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025: Stage-by-stage analysis

Then it would have been better to just skip the Grappa stage and re-design the Bormio stage to include Gavia. That is correct, but I'm not sure if there are many alternatives. Terminillo and Vesuvio of a certain difficulty. Something in the Marche region (Catria, Petrano). Not much more than...

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

Hirschi is yet again disappointing. He has in no way lived up to the promise from the great 2020 season. Last year was good, but this year he is back on a lower level.....

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

If they did what I said, they could even have dropped Monte Grappa (or the San Valentino stage) and it would still have been a great route. It would have been a bit backloaded, but you would still have: - A sterrato stage. - San Pellegrino in Alpe - Abetone, basically the little brother of...

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

They didn't have to change much to have made this version one of the best in later years. Abetone as stage finish instead of Castelnovo ne'Monti (and some more climbs earlier at that stage). Bormio stage could have had same start and finish (or to Bormio 2000), just a different route. Champoluc...

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

Really too bad. It's one of the two best combos in cycling. Even if they fix recta Contador, it's not the same. Yeah. And what's a shame is that they didn't have to change too much in terms of start and finish locations to make it one of the best routes in later years.

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

I wonder when we'll see the best side of Mortirolo again. Combined with the classic Aprica finish. It has been far tool long since last time.

Tour de Romandie, April 29th - May 4th

First of all there is two ITTs in 6 stages. The 3 km prologue is just boring. Second; I want the difficult parts to be a bit more than a massive MTF to Thyon. The decsive mountain stage should be a bit easier and then rather add a tough medium mountain stage where it was possible to gain more...
