    Sagan Clean?

It is difficult to judge that TOC climb that day since he essentially time trialled it up at 101% effort, seen totally collapsing at the line and out of breath for such a long period that it was truly believable. Totally unlike the days when Levi smashed everyone and gave interviews minutes...

    Sprinter's Power Output

Chris Hoy, at his peak, could do 2600 watts for about 1.5 seconds. What's more impressive is how much force he could apply to the pedal - 516 lb-ft of torque. That's far more torque than most cars. But since he can only maintain it for a second.

Peter Sagan vs. Mark Cavendish. Who has the best palmares.

Jury is still out on this since Sagan is still young with so many years of competition-level strength ahead of him. Cav on the decline, but we know he can still rack up more Tour wins, to gain the total stage win title. On the other hand, Cav's silver medal on the track in Rio was a severe...

Men Elite Road Race - UCI RWC Doha 2016

Ouch, Cavendish taking silver in the two biggest races for him in the year, if not of his life. That's got to hurt big time.

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Agreed 100%. I respect Olga a lot more than I ever have after that interview. He speaks the truth all the way through on things others shy away from because they fear backlash from sponsors and not being invited to post-race parties by the organizers. The Vuelta fraud this year that he...

What just happened in that Para ilympics race?

Rider in yellow who ran to the line could have won if he took his bike with him. Guess he didn't watch that mountain stage of the Tour this year .

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Astana would be great. I think we'd see more of the Contador of old with this team. He would probably be willing to take a massive pay cut if that meant having a capable team that will support him.

    Rate the 2016 Vuelta

4 for me. Too much "grade B" level riders. Sky and Tinkoff teams were filled with tired and/or unmotivated riders. Contador injured again ruled him out early on. And then that massive organized cheating that occurred when unmotivated riders soft pedaled up at 200w the entire stage & laughed...

2016 Vuelta a España, Stage 20: Benidorm → Alto de Aitana

Froome will go full *** with everyone trying to latch on. Chaves gets dropped early on and reminded once again he needs to work on stamina for future grand tours. Contador tries to foolishly attack the two leaders instead of following wheel, so ends up running out of gas and momentarily...

Should the grupetto have been DQ'd on Stage 15?

Shouldn't need to have additional rules when existing ones work just fine. Riders outside the time limit should simply be removed, period. Else, adding on more new rules won't make any difference when you have the powers that be just change them whenever they feel like, even in light of...

    2016 Vuelta a España, stage 16: Alcañiz > Peñíscola 156.4km

Re: 2016 Vuelta a España, stage 16: Alcañiz > Peñíscola 156. So Bennati, one of the worst climbers in the peleton, fought hard yesterday with a 19 minute time deficit to stay within the limit, and then today gets blown away by a bunch of riders who were on vacation? Disgusted with this race...

    2016 Vuelta a España, stage 16: Alcañiz > Peñíscola 156.4km

Massive break from Direct Energie, one of them will take the win.

Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

Pretty clear what happened to stoneface this year - his pre-Tour training was just a joke, while the Tour itself was his actual training. Not the way it was planned, but it's how it panned out. Hopefully he'll learn from this by training in Europe next year and enter real races to test against...

Should the grupetto have been DQ'd on Stage 15?

Definitely doesn't seem to be fair. These guys willfully chose to ride a ridiculously slow pace, knowing full well they would be outside the time limit, while others killed themselves to ride as hard as they could to start within the limit. Now they all will have fresh legs in comparison to...

    2016 Tour of California 2.HC May 15-22

While Wiggins will put in a smashing time trial and do okay in the mountain stage, he would have to stay really close to the sprint finishes to prevent being gapped. Not sure he will want to risk himself in a field with a lot of juniors dangerously skirting around.
