Congrats Salvarini! What a lead. I'm glad to finish around 30th for once.

Il Lombardia 2025, monument, October 11

Fair point. I feel like there was a year recently where there was some hype about the clash though. May have been 2023.

Last year had more hype regarding Evenepoel vs. Pogacar in my opinion.

I can't remember being less hyped for Lombardia since 2018.

    European Championship 2025: Men’s RR, October 5

The current crop of top riders is a bit too adamant on solo rides. I've had my fill of it over the past few seasons.

Teams & Riders Cian Uijtdebroeks - From the wetlands to the top of cycling

Would be interesting to have a poll about what his career trajectory will look like. People seem certain that he'll crash and burn, but might backpedal into "I just meant he wouldn't win a GT".

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

1'30" in a descent? What? If this were true there'd be contenders putting 30" to 1' into Pogacar in descents. Some takes on here are just odd.

UAE will accede to every reasonable demand Pogacar will make.

The elephant in the room theory

To be honest, I think a lot of people would be very interested in seeing more of this analysis. If you have it available please don't hesitate to share findings (e.g. Top-10 of every TDF since 2010 and the results of the analysis for each).

Wout Van Aert has just always has great recovery too in GTs.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

I'm probably naive but I don't get why they couldn't have just communicated that Remco had a broken rib. It's not like Vinge or Pog would have had their team do their absolute utmost to take advantage of that. He was the underdog. There was no urgent need to project as much strength as possible...

Vingegaard vs Pogačar - The Duel

I prefer the Froome-Quintana rivalry. At least in that one there was sometimes a vague hope that enough time could still be clawed back. The current time gap is comical.

    Pogacar today 2,61% to n°2 10,29% to n°10 73,70% to entire top-10

    Mental or random cycling statistics

I made a table including every ITT ridden in a GT since 2000. There I calculated the gap (in %) between the winner and 2nd place, the winner and 2nd place and between the winner and the rest of the top-10. Original results were used regardless of if someone got disqualified later...
