    Mental or random cycling statistics

Peter Sagan won 12 Tour stages and finished second 22 times. Erik Zabel won 12 Tour stages and finished second 22 times.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

There are still four people alive with more stage wins than Pogacar in the Tour.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Losing time on purpose would be terribly stupid, for the following reasons: He's third with only eight days to go. It's too late to change his strategy. Even if he loses a chunk of time, he can still finish between fourth and tenth. You don't just throw away a top 10 place. Otherwise fewer...

First rest day poll - who will win the 2025 tour de France?

The rest day is my favorite day in the Tour. We can have intelligent discussions and strategical analyses. TV programs and podcasts continue as if there had been a stage. Conflicting opinions, unfounded rumors and sensational headlines can be spread. We can arrange our day schedule as it fits...

Ben Healy is not another Benny Hill but excels in hilly terrain

Fantastic achievement. He has a stage and yellow. I'm surprised that he's only twenty-four, because he's been around for years. Ben Healy looks like a comedian, but he takes his job more seriously than you'd think. His head is tilted, but his position is actually very aerodynamic. It's always...

    Tour de France Stage 6: Bayeux – Vire-Normandie (201.5k)

Pogacar will suffer from the heat, having to wear three different jerseys. ;)

Tour de France Tour de France 2025, Stage 5: Caen – Caen (33.0k, ITT)

Simoni was 84th in 2003, but I don't know if that's the record (not including DNFs).

Tour de France Tour de France 2025, Stage 5: Caen – Caen (33.0k, ITT)

My prediction for the stage: Evenepoel Vingegaard 0:49 Pogacar 0:56 That would result into the following GC: Pogacar Vingegaard 0:01 Evenepoel 0:02

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogacar was a guest in "Vélo Club" on French television today, together with Bernard Hinault. When asked which advice he'd give Pogacar, Hinault answered, "Don't give any presents!" When asked about his aggressive riding style, Pogacar said that cycling today is more on feeling than it used to be.

Riders to reach 100 pro wins

Démare and Kristoff are going into therapy. :disappointed:

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

I agree with the theory that he doesn't want to do the ITT in the non-aerodynamic polka-dot jersey. That means he has to avoid reaching the top of the St-Hilaire first, which makes it less likely - but not impossible - to win the stage today.

Tour de France Stage 4: Amiens – Rouen (174.2k)

If MvdP wins this, he should go to the Flèche Wallone next year.

Tour de France Tour de France 2025, Stage 3: Valenciennes – Dunkerque (173.8k)

This is the easiest stage of the Tour, with only 399 altitude meters. Benjamin Thomas will try to avoid another crash on the Mont Cassel, which they take in the opposite direction this time. A bunch sprint can be expected. Merlier and Milan will probably be there this time, but Philipsen has...

    Tour de France Tour de France 2025, Stage 2: Lauwin-Planque – Boulogne-sur-Mer (209.1k)

209 km is the longest stage!? In the years 1919-1924 they always did a stage of 482 km, from Les Sables-d'Olonne to Bayonne. Nowadays they'd need three stages to cover that distance.

Tour de France Tour de France 2025: who will win the race?

Forty years after Hinault it's time another French winner. This is boding well for Vauquelin. :smirk:
