what has happened to this website...

This URL is technically no longer in use, as http://www.cyclingnews.com is the site for both desktop and mobile. The same site, the same content, but with a layout that scales to fit the size of your screen. However, m.cyclingnews.com should just redirect to http://www.cyclingnews.com, and I...

What has happened to the forum????

Ah, I can see where the confusion might be. The Google Adsense Bot is not an "advertising bot" in the sense that it comes to post advertisements. It's a search engine bot, which looks through the forum and helps Google index the pages. There are a number of different bots that crawl the forum...

What has happened to the forum????

Re: Well the truncation is an entirely separate issue, I'm afraid. I think phpBB passes links through at least 3 different functions when posting, and the URL formatting / truncation are handled individually. So that one's just "still broken", as opposed to "didn't fix" / "made worse"! ;) It's...

What has happened to the forum????

Re: Re: Actually, I did (and didn't)! When I was testing editing a post, I used a test case prior to the change which doesn't seem to replicate your issue. Looks like only editing new posts does this, so it slipped through. Apologies for that. It shouldn't be retaining the extra attributes in...

What has happened to the forum????

That's because the post doesn't use the [ url ] tags. Annoyingly, it seems as though pasting in a URL without the [ url ] tags does convert it to a link, but doesn't use the same preferences (opening in a new window, etc) as if you'd used the [ url ] tags. I'll take a look at why that's happening.

What has happened to the forum????

Links included in posts using the [ url ] tags will open in another tab / window, though this may not be the case for posts made before (or very soon after) we changed forum platforms.

What has happened to the forum????

Amsterhammer, I just checked your preferences and you have still got "Attach my signature by default" set to "No". If you click the "Edit Profile" link under the navigation / banner ad when logged in, go to the "Board Preferences" tab, and then choose "Edit posting options" on the left. See below.

What has happened to the forum????

Re: There isn't currently this option, I'm afraid. Apologies if my instructions weren't clear enough. I assumed the Full Editor button would have been fairly recognisable given its location, though an additional screenshot may have been a good idea. Chris has kindly done that for me now, so if...
