Pity we will never see Frogačar. Is it even possible? Perhaps if he lets Remco take yellow?

    Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 7: Saint-Malo – Mûr-de-Bretagne (197.0k)

Looks like Pogi is a climber again according to PCS, switched roles with Vinge who is a gc specialist.

I had to google that. Thank you, it's great.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogi is no longer competing with peers. Hes competing against Merckx. Against possible. He's like a pioneer himalayan mountaineer, exploring the limits of human experience. You can see it in his interviews, the change. In 2024, mid-Giro, he was already racing the Tour. On Isola2k slopes, he was...

Specifically, depends on whether or not the DS watches "mr. knucklehead".

I think UAE could let go tomorrow. Plenty of riders over 10 minutes. I know Teddy is chasing 7 stage wins .. the plan could be "let em go", then some knuckleheads will pull hard in the peloton, then Pogi will say "eh, why not". It's hard to be so damn superior. Soo many fruits hanging just in reach.

Ok, so far there were three riders (Remco, MVDP and Jonas) that when combined by best traits could compete with Pogačar. But he is closing the gap and fast. He's starting to beat MVDP in his terrain, he's closing on Remco in ITT and he's surpassed Vinge in high mountains.

Imagine that. It's not impossible, you know. Largely depends on the sprinters distributing point among themselves well..

I guess the line of thought "Dauphine was a bluff and a test" is validated. Granted, Vingegaard underperformed by 30 seconds, but that'd still be 30 seconds lost. Remco performed well. I actually expected some 15-30 seconds between him and Pogi. Now, let's enjoy 17 stages of dreaming, inflating...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Every time Pogi does something, be it a 100k solo attack or ten pedal strokes on a steep climb, maybe just a weird look at an opponent, we analyze it to death. Is it a good sign or a bad omen? Is he hiding something, has he overexerted himself, how many hairs stood up through his helmet? I bet...

I have a strange feeling he'll be in yellow tomorrow. He likes colourful jerseys, despite the burden. Dauphine was a test ride, now it's for real. Remco will win but I see Pogi going full gas not far off and beating Vinge.

To win your 100th in Tour de France, in a sprint against MVDP, in world champion jersey, against the two greatest competitors, visible in the finish photo, ACCORDING TO PLAN, is utterly, completely astronomically insane. The level of control over things is just unimaginable.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Remco is a fine rider. He just has to concentrate on TT's and certain classics. And keep a look out for any "open" GT's.
