Question Does anyone have any tips for going to a stage at le Tour de France?

Just saw this- I prefer a good urban hill finish. You can usually get a hotel in the finishing town/city, often they're on a train line and they're even spread out. Obviously a time trial is ideal though but they aren't necessarily easy to schedule around an existing trip. In general I think...

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 12: Auch - Hautacam (180.6k)

I am rooting for Rog and Pog tomorrow but I think Jonas wins by about 35 seconds if Pog is banged up but not hurt, over a minute and a half if Pog is worse off than he let on. Hard to imagine Pog beating Jonas tomorrow after today. Even with just road rash, hard to see him winning. With that...

Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

He's 340 down on Pog. The question becomes what happens to this race if Pog isn't Pog because of the crash? I guess the assumption is in that case Ving and Jumbo would destroy the race and win by 8 minutes which is possible but I don't know. If this race becomes a wild one, Roglic has been...

Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Call me crazy- Jumbo is destroying this race. Pog crashed. Meanwhile Red Bull has two guys in the top 10. I think the key here is for Pog to be healthy enough to worry Jumbo. Roglic has had an easy ride of it so far. I don't know, it's Roglic but I think he might have something to say about this...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

The knee thing is scary. Again, nobody knows anything. Plus, it's a 3 week bike race. He could have injured himself and it's done. Or he could simply be sore tomorrow from the road rash but use it as even more motivation and either not lose much time or even gain a few seconds. We obviously...

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 12: Auch - Hautacam (180.6k)

If Jumbo doesn't ride hard tomorrow- I don't know which way up is anymore. They've been riding insanely hard this whole race- to the point of everyone wondering if they were over doing it and would pay the price themselves. Now that Pog crashes and we're in the high mountains? No way they don't...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

This sort of thing is just part of our sport. There's a reason it's so hard to win Tour after Tour. Even if you're the best rider by a large margin, crashes happen in a 3 week bike race. Obviously, none of us know Pog's condition. Maybe even Pog doesn't know the true impact of it. The timing...

That time trial seems like it'll be huge. If Jonas gains serious time, he'll become the favorite once again. If Pog can gain serious time, it's hard to imagine Jonas winning.

First rest day poll - who will win the 2025 tour de France?

Yeah, cold and wet. The rain is predicted for the first part of the day but if that shifts to the afternoon and it's cold and wet, watch out. Jonas might hate the cold as much as Pog dislikes the heat- which is comical considering where Ving is from. Especially after a tough, hot mountain time...

First rest day poll - who will win the 2025 tour de France?

Does anyone still worry about Pog in the extreme heat? I know he has won some big stages in the heat the last year but I still have my concerns. It looks like Thursday is going to be the hottest day in Pyrenees. On the flip side, Saturday looks like it could be downright chilly by Tour...

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 11: Toulouse – Toulouse (156.8k)

Toulouse should be a big winner tomorrow. Sounds like a gorgeous city, it's one of those stages I am looking forward to just watching visually. I imagine tourism will see a spike there after the stage.

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 11: Toulouse – Toulouse (156.8k)

Well designed stage, I can't imagine GC guys going for it but who know, given how Jumbo has raced things so far. Personally, I'd ride if I was Jumbo, simply to attack with Matteo and try and bait Pog into following and tire him out for what might be the two most important stages in the race the...

First rest day poll - who will win the 2025 tour de France?

Yeah, that's really the key point. 1:17 is not insignificant. Essentially those of us who like Jonas' chances assume he'll either break Pog the way he did in his two wins or he's going to have a phenomenal mountain time trial. But if you take the approach the the two riders are essentially...

First rest day poll - who will win the 2025 tour de France?

I am a Pog fan but I think this poll is being hard on Jonas who imho has been the more dominant Tour rider of the two over their careers. I am worried about UAE. We'll see. I just want an honest, fair test between the two. I think the poll should be closer to 50-50.
