electronic campagnolo groupo; yea or nay?

Anyone have any idea of price of Campag electronic? The Ultegra Di2 is marketed as being the 'affordable' option. I don't which marketing genius thinks that a rear derailleur costing £200+ is 'affordable'?

electronic campagnolo groupo; yea or nay?

The Campag system looks great. I am now going to put my house on the market so I can pay for one!

Generic "OEM" frames out of china on ebay

Another place for cheap bikes in Australia is cellbikes.com.au. They are currently selling a carbon bike with Di2 for AU$3999 (about US$ 3500 or £2500). If you compare it to prices in the UK (most places sell cheapest carbon bike from £1500) it is a steal.

There is no way Cancellera is Clean!

I think something is fishy when you see the way he rode in the E3. He rode from the 3rd group on the road to the second and then without even waiting he rode past most of them and continued to the first group (admittedly with some help from O'Grady who dropped from the first group). He did a...

UCI, McQuaid, Verbruggen threaten to Sue Landis

They will never sue. They were going to sue Greg LeMond remember when he said they were corrupt. Just like the people who run FIFA, they certainly don't want to be put on a stand in a court of law and have to answer, under oath, very uncomfortable questions. The people accusing Landis of being...

    Garmin Cervelo Dismiss Matt White

I used to race in Australia around the same time as Matt White (although not at the same level) and if I remember correctly he was found positive for some sort of steroid when on the Australian Institute of Sport squad (don't know if this can be verified anywhere. Any help?). Another guy from my...

Gee I think it's awful that a DOPER won LBL

The whole argument about length of bans, I think, misses the point. Until bans apply to EVERYONE, such as D.Sportifs and doctors then we will only catch the little fish which is probably the point.

    Favourite "Dirty" Performance

I remember a stage of the Giro (can't remember which specific year) and Pantani punctured at the worst possible time at the bottom of a hill. The cameras stayed on Pantani and forgot about the leaders. After the wheel change the cameras continued to follow him as he chased. He just flew past all...

Team Sky. The all clean team!

Whilst I don't want to buy into conspiracy theory I am a bit skeptical about a team that is ultimately owned by Rupert Murdoch. Even David Millar alluded to this in an interview with velocitynation. Has Murdoch's money made the NFL, the Premier League or Serie A cleaner? Whether it is doping or...

    Manzano's testimony confirmed...yet again.

Spoken like a true Mafia don. If a local businessperson doesn't pay protection money the goons don't simply go to collect it; they destroy the person and leave them broken. The UCI are now not even bothering with the pretense of cleaning up the sport.

    McQuaid's True Colours.

I wonder if they'll get him to practice his fascist salutes whenever he meets His Excellency, J.A. Samaranch?

    Armstrong Lies

It looked like one of those hostage videos you see on the news. I was looking for the guys with Kalashnikovs and rocket launchers in the background.

    McQuaid's True Colours.

Well, Pat's work in cycling has finally been recognised by the sporting Mafia dons and has been allowed into the "family", otherwise known as the IOC. I guess we shouldn't be surprised. He can now learn about corruption from the masters of the genre.

    The greatest individual sporting lie?

I think for lies there are plenty from the Olympics. What about the American boxer (I can't recall the name) who was denied a gold medal at the 1988 Olympics because the judges were bribed by South Korean officials. What about the FIFA official Jack Warner who made millions when he awarded...

    Lemond - Trek lawsuit

I think Greg is really determined to get some of the Lance BS heard in a court of law. Even if a lot of the LA spin is shown up for what it is then he has won. In a lot of court cases that involve corporations, even when they lose they say they won. For example, in the famous McLibel case in...
