Commentary on TNT and other WB brands

I can’t remember if it was the men’s or women’s madison, but he did a great job calling the last few laps and explained what was happening and what the points ramifications were. It made the coverage better as the debatable camera work would have made it very difficult otherwise.

Definitely one of those races we are likely to never see again at this level. Kenny’s form did seem to pick up over the past 24 hours. He looked much better in the repechage and again in the SF, I thought maybe a bronze or silver, then with 2 laps to go it was done and dusted.

Jason Kenny caught them asleep with an epic win. GB’s greatest ever Olympian.

Another crazy race. Great ride from the Danes and a late attack by GB take the silver from France

    Olympics 2021

Fantastic achievement. The same amount of medals as Argentina, South Africa and Greece.

    Olympics 2021

Agreed, it’s fairly easy when a fight is completely one-sided, but it’s a very difficult job when it’s a close fight and you have to pick through very small details.

    Olympics 2021

Several of the swimmers weren’t very happy that the finals were on early morning in Tokyo so they could be shown at prime time over in the US as well.

    Olympics 2021

I like several of those events you mentioned, especially BMX, equestrian and sailing, so I’m not particularly bothered by it. It does seem a bit weird to drop it given the increase in new sports at the games.

Yeah I thought Van Schip would be a big challenger, but he seemed to run out of steam in the final race and only really put in a couple of half-hearted attacks. Viviani came back strong but left himself too much to do for gold, though I think after a difficult year he’ll be happy with a medal.

Matt Walls dominated the Omnium and rode a clever points race. Stewart takes silver with a great late attack.

Feel a bit sorry for Van Riessen as she got nudged out and then overcompensated trying to avoid the German rider, but definitely at fault sadly. Rotten luck for Marchant, hopefully she can make up for it in the sprint.

it’s not an accurate representation because you are generalising a whole nation, which is the incorrect thing to do. If you don’t like GB and want them to lose or cheer in another nation, that’s absolutely fine, but keep it within the boundaries. As a big fan of Ganna I’d have been cheering...

Well said, this is why you should always celebrate success, because in sport it very rarely lasts a long time. Given the resources within the GB team I’m sure it won’t be too long before they are up there again, though with 2 silvers to date, and other chances ahead, it’s far from a disaster.

Too Late, Too Furious: Tokyo Drift - The 2020 Olympics Thread

There has always been some sort of crossover between MTB/track and road cycling so it’s difficult to draw a line through there. My post was merely to remind posters that other sports should be discussed in the Olympic thread in the non-cycling sub forum. Whilst I appreciate there are some...

Budget doesn’t come into it, it’s clearly against the rules, as are the vests. I’d imagine other teams would have gone down that route had they have been allowed to.
