his main rivals today (vingegaard and VDP) are older than him so they won't close the gap. Evenepoel will probably reduce the gap in one day races but not in GTs. Del toro and seixas can improve a lot but I don't see them reaching pogacar's level in big races (monuments, WCs and GTs) in the next...

Pogacar in week 3 of the tour was significantly below his top level (the level he had in the first 2 weeks or in week 3 of tour 2024 or even in lombardia a few days ago). That is just a fact, supported by the numbers he did on long climbs and the gaps with respect to the others. And pogacar...

pogacar on top form would have won 2/3 stages in week 3, dropped vingegaard easily (just like in dauphine and hautacam) and would never have been dropped by van aert. Just look at his week 3 in tour de france 2024. If it's not clear to you that something went wrong I don't know what to tell you...

still it's clear from week 3 that something went wrong with his body so the connection with the crash is very easy, at least they should have mentioned it

It's just incredible how all commentators never mentioned the crash during week 2 and 3 of the tour. If it was another rider who crashed like that they would still be talking today about how it affected him. Now we have the confirmation from pog himself that something went wrong at the tour. It...

yes isola is better if you take into account it was week 3 of the tour. But imo this was better than hautacam

https://watts2win.eu/cyclist/2043/performance yes it is, only Pdb was better, isola very similar. This year at hautacam his level was lower. The peyragudes TT was better in terms of pure watts but it can't be compared, this was a 240 km race

yes but VAM is heavily dependet on the average gradient, it's easier to do an high vam on high gradients

yes, i have a VAM of 1894, which is crazy on 7.2% gradient. This is top 3 in his career just behind Pdb

this performance is better than anything he did at the tour this year, better than hautacam and peyragudes. It's top 3 in his career. Pdb is a tiny bit better, today's performance was probably even better than in isola 2000

In the interview with italian tv pog said that after the race they were talking with teammates about the numbers he did on the last final climb and said they were crazy. I'm waiting for the estimates, but my guess looking at the time is that he did around 7.3 w/kg for 21:20.

wow, I did not expect such great numbers, looking at him he was in control there, with 70 KMs to the end, very impressive

PR, MSR, Tdf and WC will be the focus next year. He has to skip vuelta again next year because otherwise in montreal it will be too difficult to win after such a season

yes, only problem is that they never make it. They need to be well positioned but they also need a third rider, and that's del Toro
