I think that the ski change played it's role. He came back to the front group by himself (earlier than Niskanen even) and his skis were really good in the end as well so he didn't lose anything to Iversen or Bolshunov who changed one lap later. I think that he saved a lot of energy on that lap...

Nobody should be punished today in my opinion. The contact was even before the start of the tracks.

In Lahti Bolshunov was only punished for hitting other skier with a pole.

Of course Bolshunov wanted to win, but one 3.3km lap (or even two) is not enough for anyone to drop completely fresh Kläbo no matter what they do or where they decide to attack. The only thing that could've stopped Kläbo from winning the race was a fall or broken pole.

Re: Re: I mean we had Bernal and Thomas cruising over the finish line and holding hands while Buchmann and Kruijswijk finished 6s back. They weren't capable of attacking today.

Re: Re: If you are on the limit it is impossible to attack. And even if they would try it would look like one of those half hearted attacks that accomplishes nothing (that everyone here hates as well)and they would get dropped immediately.

Re: I don't think so. They finished behind Bernal and Thomas today who didn't even really attack. They simply weren't strong enough to beat Bernal and Thomas. What are they supposed to do?

I don't see anything wrong in following wheels. If you are clearly not the strongest rider in the peloton what are you supposed to do. By attacking you don't achieve anything and it probably results in getting dropped earlier. I am more than a sure that if a rider feels 110% on a day and clearly...

Le Tour '19 Stage 20: Albertville > Val Thorens 59km

Re: I don't there is even a slight chance that it will be a snooze fest. We have riders and teams trying to get a stage win and I think that some of the GC riders (like Kruijswijk) want to move up on the GC as well so it's going to be all-out racing from start to finish.

I am little disappointed, but you can't do anything agaisnt nature. On the other hand 59 km final stage is probably going to be madness and chaos so I am looking forward to it. Maybe Alaphilippe can do something as well today if the stage is so short. Biggest loser might be Jumbo-Visma in my...
