    Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2026 (January 28 - February 1)

Happy for Arne. Hope he gets more chances. A mistake for Lotto lo leave him out the team. There was room for De Lie, De Schuyteneer and him.

So gutted for him. Crossing fingers he will be in shape for chasing the podium in Roubaix.

    6th AlUla Tour 2026 (27-31 January)

Luca Paolini was caught using a phone as well in a Vuelta stage 10 years ago. By the way, Firstcycling has Vermaerke in the front group now. This looks like another UAE 1-3-5 or something like that. Without Dunbar and Double no one is going to challenge them (Voisard, Eulalio, Garofoli...

    World Tour Wildcards 2026

So hyped to see Alexandre Mayer, Giorgios Bouglas and Clement Alleno light it up the Paterberg and make Fabio Roscioli climbing Xorret de Cati look like Pantani in his prime.

Good start for the Wanty boys. Rex with a powerful sprint to 4th and Page with a very good lead-out for Fretin.

    World Tour Wildcards 2026

Thing is this Wildcard systems was allegedly designed to avoid piss-poor teams to enter big races, but you have Burgos, which is nerfing amateur asian races to enter the Top30 but quality-wise is probably a fringe Top-50 team, riding races like Giro and Omloop Het Volk.

    World Tour Wildcards 2026

Burgos getting Omloop and possibly Giro means the wildcard system is a complete nonsense. Tarteletto, Wolker-Vessels or any other belgium / dutch CT would make more sense than Burgos. The same with Solution Tech or MBH Bank - Ballan.

Vuelta is the perfect race for one hit wonders. Nozal in the early 00s, Peter Velits in 2010, Horner in 2013, Carthy in 2020, etc. Anyways there's obviously a non-disclosed issue with Carthy, given he did not race since June. He was also supposed to be contracted until 2026, the team did not...

Balmer extends with Solution Tech (Toscana Nippo Rali from 2026 onwards) for another season. He will be joined by Kamiel Bonneu.

I don't know if Van Sintmartensdijk will join the team. He repeatedly claimed in interviews his future was linked with Bini regardless of where the eritrean would ride, but there has been no further news about it. As for free agents, Venturini (who is reportedly asking way too much), Guerreiro...

Decent domestique for the northern classics and lead-out train mainly. For his own chances, he is sort of a fast rider on punchy finishes and reduced groups on slightly hilly parcours.

It seems Dries de Pooter has signed for Jayco Al-Ula insted of going to Quick Step Devo. Happy about it.

Arne had a good 2025 season. Probably the best of his career in terms of placings and quality sprinting and delivered a couple of surprisingly good performances (4th at Kuurne, 2nd at Down Under second or third stage). Meeus is definitely better and has certain results that seem completely out...

Silva is joining Astana. No clue about Babor. I would guess a return to Central Europe teams rather than Asia.
