We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
I don't know if Van Sintmartensdijk will join the team. He repeatedly claimed in interviews his future was linked with Bini regardless of where the eritrean would ride, but there has been no further news about it.
As for free agents, Venturini (who is reportedly asking way too much), Guerreiro...
Decent domestique for the northern classics and lead-out train mainly. For his own chances, he is sort of a fast rider on punchy finishes and reduced groups on slightly hilly parcours.
Arne had a good 2025 season. Probably the best of his career in terms of placings and quality sprinting and delivered a couple of surprisingly good performances (4th at Kuurne, 2nd at Down Under second or third stage).
Meeus is definitely better and has certain results that seem completely out...
Solution Tech, it seems
Also, Oldani has signed for Caja Rural. It's a good addittion for the team. They are bringing Gaviria as well to complete a 27 rider roster.
Wondering if Girmay will take Roel Van Sintmartensdijk with him. Roel said a couple of months ago he was going to ride with...
Do we know anything else about who is staying on board of our newly merged disaster team? Mainly about last 3-4 spots that were unconfirmed.
I'm utterly disappointed about how things have been managed. Honestly it feelis like Boulart and Visbeek dismantled the whole Wanty team which seems was...
I would expect INEOS to extend Kwiatkowski, Heiduk, Rivera and Swift.
Jayco is supposed to extend Foldager, Hepburn and Hellemose.
Cycling Academy to extend Einhorn, Kogut and Raisberg
Astana is supposed to sign Lev Gonov and Scalco.
Probably only 4-5 real spots are still open.
Top Asian teams use to pay quite well, much more than a European Conti Team. If the cyclist can cope with living in China or Malaysia, money-wise the transfer is a very good option.
Japan as well, but i have the impression there are fewer openings in those teams currently and it is a much more...
Read a rumour that both Dries de Pooter and Maxence Place will join Soudal devo for next season. I guess De Pooter would have a similar role to Ceriel Desal and mainly ride a professional program. He is already a worthy domestique for the belgium and french calendar.
Everything, considering the traditional approach in cycling to national / continental / world championships: one day races for road and ITT and no separation between flat and mountain ITT (though I admit i've seen a few other countries that separate regular ITT and mountain climb ITT)
Surely you mean Christophe Rinero.
I had forgotten about Skil. On paper they were rather weak, but as you mention they did a decent 2009 Tour. Skil Shimano even got 3rd in a stage if I recall correctly. They also managed to put half of the team in the first echelon in the La Grand Motte stage...
