If i had to put money down on is JV doping or are they not i would probably put money on doping. Having said that, i also think they have a very professional staff & training program that works very closely with their riders. I can see where a such a quality support staf can actually be a great...

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

Gianetti is almost a guarantee for some kind of doping usage. Having said that if you feel that a rider who did doping himself and was involved in teams with doped riders in the 00's cant be involved in cycling anymore then a large % of current DS's, team managers and 'ploegleiders' can't be...

14 year old tests positive for anabolic steroid

Yeah i agree. Back when i was that age there were a bunch of kids in my class and football team doing a lot of different types of drugs including harddrugs. If i wanted to do that or something performance enhancing i would have easy access to that. Without any of the parents or coaches knowing.

Re: Re: I think there is massive doping in football. Having said that i would be very surprised to see a club led doping programme at the youth teams of Anderlecht. The simple reason for this is that over 90% of the 15 year olds at anderlecht will never play in the first team of anderlecht and...

Re: If these were the results from a 19 to 23 year old (from 2015 to 2018) all in the sport would consider this a very talented rider. However without any meaningfull result over a 3 week period GT nor any meaningfull mountain stage result during a GT in that period i would expect that nobody...

Re: Re: Yeah wasnt aware at the time of my post, just coincidence. But reality is that imo it should be obvious that in those sports and with the succes of certain dutch athletes chances are quite high that there is something to find. This latest news proves that, but also points out the...

Re: What i am aiming at is not a journo asking Dumoulin tough questions, because well you don't have a smoking gun, Dumoulin will just deny and after a while get angry since you keep on asking the same questions without any evidence. Quickly you will get vilified for that. Which i actually...

Re: Re: I don't see Zonneveld or the tv guys (nelissen, Ducrot, Dijkstra) as journalists. They are commentators who rely on the popularity of cycling in the Netherlands to keep having a good paying gig. Which means hyping the dutch guys, and every now and then commentate on a doping scandal...

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

yeah i think that is a big reason. It was the same with Armstrong and Ullrich. A bunch of people defending Armstrong and as a result massive topics. Ullrich didnt have the same 'passionate' defenders so the nr of topics was relatively small.

United Kingdom | 6 TDF Wins in 10 Years?

Why? They have won TDF's with 3 riders before, and 2 of those came out of nowhere. They still have a year or 2 with Froome & Thomas, and i'm sure they can find another british cyclist and transform him as well. If that doesnt work they can always spend the money and hire one or both Yates kids.

Re: Re: 'First of all, i wouldnt call Thomas an example of enabling to compete for the top step much quicker. He has been at Sky for years and at age 32 he turns into a contender. But that isn't the point i was trying to make. The point is that in all these years of cycling in the end winning...

I find it even more remarkable that nobody in the Dutch media even dares to bring up the subject of doping. So many legitimate reasons to at least mention it: * The whole Rabobank drama that basically implicated everybody in dutch cycling * Basically all GT contenders have been implicated with...

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

Re: Re: What post-armstrong trauma? And magnifying glass? Why would you need a magnifying glass when you have a guy who at age 32 transforms in the best climber and wins the TDF when before that he never got a top 15 in the GQ or got even close to getting a top 3 in a mountain stage while his...

What is interesting to me is how they make this work. I mean 5 wins in 6 years with 3 different cyclist who all don't have the typical GT career build up. It is so hard to win a GT and they just do it with guys that are no Eddie M. Is it a new form of doping that is undetectable? Is it...

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

I wanted to say this is just Bjarne Riis all over again. But at least Riis had finished 3rd and 5th before in the TDF. This is a guy who is 32 years old, who prior to this Tour never finished better then 15th in a GT, afaik never managed to have more then 1 decent mountain stage result (6th in...
