    Tom 'Pidders' Pidcock

And to be even fairer he was obviously in on the joke as he'd just stumbled over saying Pidcock in the heat of the moment, and was laughing at his own mistake.

Tour de France Tour de France 2021, Stage 11: Sorgues – Malaucène, 198.9 km

Oh, OK, I must have misunderstood! I've always been a fan of Cav, so on one level on that's great news. On another though that's kind of whack - I think it's fair enough if you're only avoiding disqualification by dint of the fact that there are too many others in the same boat, the least that...

Although I read this morning he'd lose all his green jersey points as a result.

Tour de France Tour de France 2021, Stage 4: Redon - Fougères, 150.4 km

I couldn't give a monkeys. Cav won, and England beat Germany, so it's been a good couple of hours!

    CMS Doping in sport revelations/discussion

Yes, I read all that and wondered WTF is going on. And it seems an odd thing to do as a double act to deflect attention - why not just admit to what Freeman claimed?

    CMS Doping in sport revelations/discussion

Hi all. A long time since I posted around here, but wondering if you can help me understand this tribunal more clearly? I only dipped into this yesterday, so I've missed points. But from what I can make out the GMC charge is that Freeman was doping a rider, and Freeman's defense is that, no, he...

    Most disappointing drug suspension?

Re: I guess there's not much chance of being found guilty if the authorities decline to press charges either though?

    Wiggins, Clinic respect?

Re: Re: I guess here is the essential problem here. Define illness. Define condition. Define requirement of medication. Personally I take the view that TUEs probably shouldn't exist for banned substances. No matter how legitimate your medical need, if you need a banned drug to help you...

    Wiggins, Clinic respect?

Re: Re: Thanks for clarifying the detail. The effective date for the TUE of the 29th in 2011 makes much more sense of Wiggins interview yesterday, but is also very much less interesting in general! EDIT: also agree that the 2013 TUE looks the most dodgy of the three. Belt and braces.

    Wiggins, Clinic respect?

Re: Re: Thanks, but to clarify I was asking when the TUE was granted, not when the RR occurred.

    Wiggins, Clinic respect?

Re: Re: Thanks - that really is something, especially given Wiggins yesterday. . .

    Wiggins, Clinic respect?

Re: Re: No idea. It's especially weird given he apparently had the TUE injection in the same day as the road race. Wonder whether that was before or after?

    Wiggins, Clinic respect?

Re: Re: That's interesting. Are you sure it was the 26th in 2011 and not 2012? If it was 2011 I'm surprised the Clinic hasn't unearthed that before (though maybe it has, I haven't been paying attention that closely for a while).

    Wiggins, Clinic respect?

Re: Re: The full transcript of yesterday's interview - where he says four times use - is here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/43294639. On digging this out link I realise my earlier posts were wrong - I said he used it for hayfever not ashtma, but in fact he's saying it was pollen induced...
