    POORman of RICHmond

Re: Re: Not how I saw it. I don't know if he had the power to help, but when he chose not to help GVA he was limiting Norway to silver at best. It wasn't a split second decision and ended up being a miscalculation. Had they reached Sagan neither likely helps Sagan and it comes back together...

    2015 predictions

The most likely way to stop Martin is if he loses interest. He's had a taste of sweet victory in breakaway stages now and it wouldn't stun me if he wanted more of that.

Male Cyclist of the year (2014)?

The problem is that there easily could have been a stage or two like the Vuelta. Contador drags Nibali to 500 meters and Nibali jumps and takes five seconds. But really who cares. Contador got rider of the year and Nibali dominated the tour. I'm sure they are both happy.

Male Cyclist of the year (2014)?

Might want to update your sarcasm detector. :) But then again maybe your right. Who knows, us Cance fanboys can go to toe to toe with Alberto fans.

Male Cyclist of the year (2014)?

Nibali's claim is simple. Three big guys planned their year around winning the TDF. Only Nibali finished. Contador is clearly a worthy winner, but to discount Nibali entirely when all GC Team and riders would trade their 2014 results for his is simply ridiculous. I know it's cool to...

Male Cyclist of the year (2014)?

Nope. But if the award is to be given to a GC rider and many riders build their season around the TDF, I give it to that winner. Contador had a great season and was fantastic at La Vuela. While Tinkov would never trade Contador for Nibali, I bet he'd trade winning La Vuelta and some week long...

Male Cyclist of the year (2014)?

Easily Nibali. He won the big race. Love to see Kristoff or Kwia recognized, but I'm guessing they stick with the best GC performance.

Cancellara is back! How about Spartacus?

And he's better than Contador at almost everything!

Ponferrada 2014 World Championships, Sep. 21st-28th

Valverde doesn't attack. But let's hope.

    Elite male WC road race

Cance from 2K out. Gerrans and Sagan watch each other. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Stage 20: Santa Estebo de Ribas do Sil-Puerto de Ancares (185.7 km)

I don't think so. If I judge AC's character right, AC will concede 4 bonus seconds to Froome and not worry about losing in the TT. Assuming Froome works the last few kilometers pulling just Contador.

Stage 20: Santa Estebo de Ribas do Sil-Puerto de Ancares (185.7 km)

I don't ever root for AC, but other than his dorky pistol salute he is all class. Here he shows it. He stays on Froome's wheel all the way. He will choose not to come around because he has his stage and la vuelta in the bag.

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

I like Froome and he is one of a very few men that have beaten AC. I didn't like his tactics today. He likely secured second for himself and first for AC. If that was the goal he nailed it. After he created the gap to AV-JR he should have challenge AC to hold it.

Stage 16, San Martín del Rey Aurelio - La Farrapona, Lagos de Somiedo

I still think if Froome stops working at 20-25 seconds up the road from Valverde, AC is in a much tougher spot. If AC lets that gap close down and he loses the sprint finish he is only 20 seconds on Valverde in GC. I get that Froome was trying to drop Contador as well, but to tow him for 3K...
