    Cervelo and BH sizing question

The Cervelo frame sizing is very well thought-out and quite different from other companies' sizing methodology. See the technical presentation on sizing on the Cervelo website.

Ritchey Breakaway bike bag -- oversize airline baggage?

Ritchey Breakaway bike - oversize baggage charge? I am considering getting the Ritchey Breakaway. Has anyone had experience travelling with it? The carry bag has a combined linear measurement of 66", whereas most airlines have a check-in baggage limit of 62". So we are oversize by just a...

Ritchey Breakaway bike bag -- oversize airline baggage?

I am considering getting the Ritchey Breakaway. Has anyone had experience travelling with it? The carry bag has a combined linear measurement of 66", whereas most airlines have a check-in baggage limit of 62". So we are oversize by just a little. Do airlines catch this slight difference...

Etape 2010 generally and bike rental possibility?

Thanks for your replies. They have been helpful and encouraging. I think I can do it. Been up Ventoux a couple of times (not fast though). The trick is to be able to do a Ventoux-like climb after doing 160 km and 2 categorized climbs before that!:)

    fizik arione cx

Depends on your specific anatomy, but the Arione works well for me. I had a Selle Italia Trans Am SLR which came on my Giant TCR alloy from way back. It was uncomfortable but I made myself get used to it because I thought all bike seats were painful. Got the Arione with my Cervelo (upgraded...

    Surprise in weight differences

Enjoy your Ultegra, Dura Ace is not a big performance improvement for the cost. What usedtobe says makes sense. Nice bike btw.

    Surprise in weight differences

Hey krebs. Haven't ridden it so much to be absolutely sure, but the rear shifting seems a bit smoother. Ultegra was smooth and certainly more than good enough for me, but the Dura Ace seems a bit more effortless. Maybe because of the newness? The shifters both seem more responsive too...

    Surprise in weight differences

Hey iwannabe, performance vs. cost? Probably not worth it if it were new dura ace 7800 vs. new ultegra, but since I was replacing well-used ultegra parts, why not? "the truth", hmmm..... quite the handle you have there. So what are you saying? My post is pointless? or swapping ultegra for...

    Surprise in weight differences

Not a big deal, but I just swapped out my Ultegra 10 speed (pre-SL) rd, fd, shifters and brakes for DA 7800 counterparts. My Cervelo SLC (48cm) with Reynolds Assault wheels and FSA SL-K carbon compact crank weighed 17 lbs before the switch and 16 lbs 14 ounces after -- a savings of a whopping 2...

    Question about anti-armstrong fanboys

My main gripe about Armstrong (and I have a few) is not so much that he may (probably) have been a doper, but that he was such a dedicated enforcer of the omerta. Though I generally hold dopers in low esteem, I can understand why a doper dopes -- the constant pressure to win, or even to stay...

Etape 2010 generally and bike rental possibility?

Hi all, first post here, and very happy to be here. I am about to register for this year's Etape, if I am still able to. I will be spending the month of July in France (2 weeks in Bedoin (base of Ventoux), 1 week in Biarritz (probably), and the last week in Paris. I will be renting a...
