    Nordic Skiing/Biathlon Thread

I honestly find it a bit odd that the IBU statement highlights his great comeback, while it's probably the most likely cause for this death. And if so, they are among the ones to blame for it. But regardless, very sad to read, of course.

will Klaebo do all races at the Olympics? If so, it probably makes more sense to bring another sprinter anyway.

At the German Sports Personality of the Year award (he came 3rd), Lipo just said that he didn't touch the bike for eight weeks due to his health problems at the end of the season.

it's a "real" pursuit this time, by the way, based on GC times.

    World Tour Wildcards 2026

Here's the part from the financial obligations document as well: "unless an exception is made" refers to a higher allowance paid, I think, not lower. I at least remember reading that the teams got a guarantee like that before the overseas races were added to WT. It of course doesn't mean...

    World Tour Wildcards 2026

I was more thinking about the other two with a wildcard guarantee not coming, as is basically the case every year. Q36.5 has their guys in the national team anyway, but I guess a team like Cofidis would normally be interested, if everything was paid for them - also because the sprint race...

Hot racing coming up in Australia

Buitrago only lost 9s to Milan in the Deutschland Tour last year (over 2.9k - here it's 3.6k). I think he should be okay, especially if it's on road bikes again

    Teams & Riders NSN Cycling

at IPT, he had a clause in his past contract which allowed him to do the Tour, and he said that he signed for Jayco for the main reason to do so as well. But no idea if it's just wishful thinking, or if he somehow still managed to get it secured already.

    Teams & Riders NSN Cycling

In an interview with Radsport-News, Ackermann said that he left the team because IPT decided to focus more on GC on from next year, leaving him less of a chance to get selected for the Tour. I guess this may have happened before they lost Gee, though.

Teams & Riders Inter Lotto Marché

NIPPO is now confirmed to still sponsor the team, as already expected with Imamura staying on board. He hopes for more opportunities to ride for the WT team next year, which will also have a Japanese mechanic. https://teamnippo.jp/?p=86475

    Nordic Skiing/Biathlon Thread

the federation said he isn't sure to get a spot yet, but yeah, I guess he has done enough. Klaebo, Amundsen, Valnes, Nyenget should be safe, some reports say Stenshagen as well. So even if they take another sprinter (which they probably will), there's still one free spot he could get. Any idea...

    Nordic Skiing/Biathlon Thread

as they were mentioned above: Ardashev's request for neutral status was already denied, by the way, and Stepanova didn't even send one in, for obvious reasons. So I guess it's unlikely we'll still get to see either of them in the World Cup this winter.
