    Volta a Portugal 2016 (2.1, 27.07./07.08.)

Does anyone know the race routes of the Volta before circa 2001? So before it was reduced from a two-week stage race to one week? Autobus from Cyclingnews doesn't reveal much, other than some scarce race results. Because I would like to know which other mountain stages were included at that...

    Volta a Portugal 2016 (2.1, 27.07./07.08.)

I am really looking forward to stage 6 since it includes two times Torre, yet no MTF. I am wondering how Cesar Veloso will take time back in that stage and where he will attack, if he has the intent to do so. Or maybe he puts all his energy in the TT, who knows. I am not quite sure if I recall...

    Volta a Portugal 2016 (2.1, 27.07./07.08.)

Re: Re: Your statement is ill-defined since it neglects the fuss in this topic you are so curious about. Talking about "the level" neglects the wicked discrepancy between on the one hand the level of the Portuguese riders in the Volta compared to the participating foreign riders, with on the...

    Volta a Portugal 2016 (2.1, 27.07./07.08.)

Re: Maybe it went unnoticed and is easily forgotten, but he managed to finish 10th in the Vuelta of 2004, and 12th in the Vuelta of 2005. There not many Volta winners who are able to finish top 20 in a GT. So he was already a decent rider before he'd won the Volta several years later.

    Volta a Portugal (2.1) 29/7 - 9/8

Re: Re: Bille is 27 years old and still roaming in the continental circuit. Apart from some conti races and his outstanding result in the Tour of Belgium, the guy proved to have absolutely no added value in the few WT races he raced so far. Apart from Bille, who is actually a Wallloon, the...

    Tour of Pologne 2015(2.UWT) 2-8.08

Re: It was the first time that I've watched a race without taking note of the race and riders itself since the landscape was breathtaking.

    Volta a Portugal (2.1) 29/7 - 9/8

As noticed in the clinic forum, some performances during this race have fallen under suspicion, while overlooking both the downside of being Galician as well as the advantages of racing in Portugal. The contrast between them and the other participants in the Volta, has to do with the foreign...

    The twilight zone called Portugal.

The Galician clique with Ezequiel, Gustavo and Delio in the background, while having Alex and Vladimir at the front. Only one who is missing is David. All those guys are clean, but Galician riders tend to be excluded from Spanish cycling in favor of enrolling less talented riders of Spain...
