We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
Pogacar easily and convincingly imo. I don't think last year was a fluke, but circumstances were unfavourable for Pogacar and he won't let this happen again.
Bicycles imo just aren't safe at 90 km/h, with the tiny tires, flimsy (compared to motorcycles) materials, narrow forks etc. Going that speed even on a high tech road bike is madness to me.
Belgian journalists criticising Remco for leaving the Giro after testing positive for Covid19 is the dumbest *** thing I've heard in a while. I wonder what goes on in the mind of some fatass typing something like that on twitter while drinking a beer on the couch.
Maybe people should get some work done on a weekday afternoon.
If you're not in the office, then vacuum your apartment or fold some clothes or something. Makes watching cycling way more enjoyable.
I think the reason is the ongoing and tightening internationalisation of pro cycling. Of course (almost) everyone cheers more diversity in the sport, more winners from uncommon countries etc., but it also leads to a levelling between the different races. The Giro doesn't have 5 Italians who have...
From a completely egoistic point of view (as a cycling fan) I'll say it's fine actually. A month and a half break after such a spectacular early season is well deserved, and if he goes to the Vuelta (and wins), that would start to round out his palmares nicely.
However, he seems to be confident...
The only argument against Remco would be that he's only #3 in UCI points scored in 2022 behind Pogacar and Van Aert (PCS too), but it's a weak argument imo, winning races is what counts. Vingegaard is the only other half-reasonable opponent.
