i don't see how anyone can call this a 'victory' for the passport. either he's clean and had his career diminished and his reputation smeared because the passport system really doesn't understand some very basic physiology... or, something very corrupt has taken place that the passport system...

something has gone very wrong with the sky program this week. is it possible that porte is just overtrained? i'm really curious what happened.

if porte quits this giro i will place myself solidly in the 'sky hater' camp. it's pathetic to even mention that he might quit. it shows a real disrespect for the peloton, the race and the sport.

i agree that rp is a world-class one-week stage racer. if he just focused on that and never rode another gt, he could still have a stellar career.

giro over. bertie can soft-pedal the third week as a glorified training block. his greatest challenge now might be to decide whether to fight for a stage win here or save his nrg for the double attempt.
