Which Carbon frames are still manufactured in Italy

A custom frame is not better than the guy that makes the measurements for you. I have seen too many wrongly made custom frames to make a blanket statement like that. Also, I have spent hours on an extra stiff, custom made Parlee Z1 that fit me quite well. Nice, nice bike but not nearly as stiff...

Top 5 or 10 Carbon Bikes

De Rosa does not make anything CF.... Mizuno is the supplier to De Rosa. @Brodeal, "Mercury, like most bike companies, is no more of a frame builder than I am". Please name some of the brands you are referring to. I would like to know if we are talking on the same level here. As for the...

Top 5 or 10 Carbon Bikes

Finally one who knows what he is talking about. Thanks. When it comes to mass-production (yes, Colnago is under that hat, too) Asia has the upper hand. They have massive experience with the tooling, raw material and manufacturing. Now, there's a handful of big factories out there, that...

    Ceramic

Ceramics are not just ceramics... There an immensely big difference in the quality from cheap china ceramic bearings to eg. Ceramic Speed bearings. A few years ago I had a demonstration from the owner of Ceramic Speed, where he showed the quality differences from his bearings to cheap China...

    The riders aren't surprised

How the hell did you get that out of what I said? My friend has never accused anybody of anything, just felt on own body that the top guys go fast. He's well established and not complaining, just can't tell if it's because of doping or they are just better.

    The riders aren't surprised

One of my best friends is riding for a top Pro Tour team. I can only say that I'm 100% sure he's clean. In fact, he has told me that if he ever gets to a stage where he can't be better or even do his job as a very good domestique, without doping, he will quit instantly. This is from a guy who...

    Rotor Rings

I have been using them for two years now. Going back to round rings is probably not gonna happen. Actually, the largest gear will happen at 4'o clock, as that's where you can put most power in. Conversely, the smallest gear is at 1'o clock to help you get the power going. My pedaling is a lot...

    Richie Porte

Agreed. There's a reason that contracts are made. Porte was a young unknown rider when he got to Saxo. I don't remember a number of teams queuing up to sign him last year, so he needs to show a little respect and honour the contract.

    No mo' Gary Fisher

That Specialized, Scott and Cervelo makes the best bikes in the market is an individual assessment, but if we look at the independent testing made by Tour Magazine from Germany, which in my mind makes the most comprehensive empirical testing, Specialized comes out very well, Scott is good...

    Cervelo rs?

Agreed. Comfort is mostly a function of fit, fit, fit and tire pressure, choice of tires, saddle etc. A flexy seatpost can help too. Given all lengths eg. Scott has gone to, to get 0.8 mm compliance out of the new CR1, it seems obvious that the difference on frames is not very big.

    Conti GP 4000s

Most tires has lowest rolling resistance between 100 and 120 psi, depending on rider weight. A lot of people still pump their tires too hard with less comfort, less grip and higher rolling resistance as a result. High tire pressures feel faster, but isn't unless you are riding on a track with...

Are dry lubes a waste of time???

Please spear us from blanket statements, which is pathetic even if the poster have tried every product on the market.... I am riding an average of 400 km pr. week, races in whats equivalent to cat. 2 in US and have done that for 12 years. That means that I have been around long enough to have...
