Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

I would punch this leech if I was Pogi, or any other pro cyclist for that matter.

World Championships 2024: Men's Road Race (September 29)

It is quite bizarre how many cycling "fans" spend 99% of the time complaining that races are boring.

World Championships 2024: Men's Road Race (September 29)

I'm in the minority but I think MVDP's sprint is actually pretty suspect. Particularly a long sprint after a hard race. Don't see him beating Pog if they go to the line together.

How do you rate the 2024 la vuelta a España?

What would have made for a proper crazy race would have been Roglic crashing/abandoning the race after BOC gained all his time. Very interesting to speculate how Mas and Carapaz would have raced in that scenario, among others.

Tour de France Tour de France 2024, 2nd rest day poll: Who will win?

The hilarious part is the post from the user in question was made in jest but it's clearly been taken very seriously.

Vingegaard vs Pogačar - The Duel

His point about Vingegaard's injuiries not being as bad as they were portrayed is obviously made up and a really stupid and disrespectful thing to say. But his other point about the training numbers being better than last year should be readily verifiable and someething quite a few others have...

Tour de France Who will win the 2024 Tour de France? First rest day poll.

Still marginally leaning towards Pog but Vingegaard is just unreal. Visma aren't strong enough to soften up Pog in the mountains like the last couple of years so Vingegaard will 100% have to do everything himself.

Tour de France Tour de France 2024, Stage 1: Florence (Firenze) - Rimini, 206.0k

I seem to be in the minority here but I expect the race will, if not explode, do the thing before an explosion. It's not pre-2020. Grand Tour racing is pretty much full-on every stage. If any of the main GC teams start smashing it from the Cote de Barbotto onwards there's no chance for...

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Worst thing I ever did for my cycling performance was go on a crash diet while training for an amateur race. I lost a stack of weight but most of it ended up being lean muscle. Was an absolute shell of myself during the race and it took me months to feel good on the bike again. In fact I've...

Are people actually saying the latter?

Teams & Riders Pogačar as GOAT: already, never, or when?

There's an intangible quality about Pog's dominance that doesn't get talked about enough. The closest word to describe it is incisiveness. It's something more akin to what star footballers have. When he goes, the race is typically over in an instant. All this speculative analysis throwing...

So no power or other data to compare the two rides? I'm not disagreeing I just think the statement seems a bit weak.

What exactly are you basing the statement that Pog's performance today was way below the level Vingegaard showed in last year's TDF on?

Did Contador ever win the Saitama Criterium though?

He was so much more. An absolute master at finessing turns and only committing when he was sure he would win.
