Teams & Riders Tibor Del Grosso, the next big thing?

I expect him to be decent in the big Flemish classics as a lieutenant, but mostly I think his season will be geared around leading the team in races where VDP and Philipsen aren't present, a bit like 2025 but maybe with some more high level races. He was lacking a bit on the hills last year to...

Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana 2026, February 4-8

LOL, yes. I don't mind slightly longer TTs either. The Algarve TT is a nice length. The only problem is really that Evenepoel is the best in all aspects of the route, and that can't easily be changed. And yes, stage 3 could maybe have done with a harder main climb. But all in all, there is still...

    2026-2028 Emerging Riders CQ Game

I don't really see a problem with just amending Fivezzz' actual team instead of adding a half-official 'B' team. It's pretty obvious which rider he meant to put in his team and I don't think anyone will have any issues with that being corrected.

Lamperti made a strong attack in the closing kilometres, so no wonder he was a bit spent for the sprint. He did at least look very good. Was also among the strongest on the climb. And him attacking kinda underpins what we were discussing earlier about him not being an out-and-out sprinter, not...

    Only Simoni didn't bother.

Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana 2026, February 4-8

Agree. The opulent AI language with long sentences and tons of unnecessary adjectives is so tiresome to read. Half of all the words could be removed and the meaning of the sentence would still be completely retained. While DE's mega previews are awesome, in general the race previews don't need...

Man, I gotta stop jinxing myself. There was one single crash in Trofeo Palma, and of course it was Noah Hobbs who was really well placed for the sprint.

    Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2026 (January 28 - February 1)

He did give himself and the team the best chance of getting the win, I thought. Short shallow headwind climb against Scaroni and Morgado isn't an absolute given, even though he'd still be favourite probably. A duel against Rondel is way better odds. And it gave Van Gils license to sit on.

Does this mean that Dockx will be even better? :D Both Bisiaux and Remijn have had pretty lacklustre cross seasons. Don't know if that really means much though. But Del Grosso did carry a great cross season into a pretty great road season last year, so maybe it does.

    Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2026 (January 28 - February 1)

Maybe, but it's not so obvious. It was a big headwind, so that moto really helped Evenepoel. The attacking rider had more slipstream than the attacked. You saw how everyone else were in big groups on the climb. Hard to get away without motos.

    6th AlUla Tour 2026 (27-31 January)

What's with the Higuita criticism? What should he have done differently? Make everyone stop on top of the climb for a few weeks so he could go to the gym and bulk up to be stronger on the flat? He took a lot of pulls in the groups where he needed to. If it was as easy as you insinuate to win a...

Can't believe my luck in AlUla today. Was looking like a Dunbar disaster and lots of points for my competitors, but Vansevenant and Vermaerke both lost out quite a bit. And even if Dunbar didn't get any real points, he did at least show some signs of life today. I feel like these Remco points...

Yeah, that was extremely impressive from the breakaway riders. Pretty fun stage finale.
