    wheels

Lemond was riding a composite disc wheel in the rear with a regular alloy rimmed wheel in the front on his TT bike. Composites where used but mostly for special events like the TT and in track racing. Mavic, Campy, HED...they all had composite disc wheels then, HED had the Tri-spoke. Anyone...

    Wasps

Like the matadors cape is to the bull --- you need to move out of the way my good man....ride faster, then the wasps won't catch you. I thought you were afraid of white anglo-saxon protestants for a second, and my thought was: if they are chasing you around you might as well just switch...

    Road Pedals

Float was designed into the pedal/cleat interface so your knees don't suffer from the misalignment's between your hip and ankle which can lead to injury. The amount of float you may need depends on you and your pedaling/body eccentricities.

    Road Pedals

Speedplays all the way. If you are not totally satisfied with the Keo, than why not try a pedal that operates on a completely different principle. The Shimano, Campy and Look pedals all work on the same cleat/spring retention principle, and thus share most of the same engagement/disengagement...

    Do you buy cycling magazines?

No point to it anymore in my opinion, unless its a special edition with really nice photos - then it assumes a spot on the coffee table. And most magazines are so lite on content and so heavy with ads - I'd much rather come here and peruse all the threads and opinions of my cycling peers, as...

    Steel Frame: Pros and Cons

A friend of mine had an early Al lugged carbon frame from Trek, when he would shift the front dérailleur, the entire seat tube would rotate in the bottom bracket shell. And def agree about the tedium and expense - if we had F1 and Boeing type budgets...could you imagine? Folks in the bike...
