He may not have been found at the Strava point, that is unclear. Although a photo of the Strava site does not look at all like a ravine or even a ditch is nearby. He may have hit the Strava button for some reason and then continued on.

Now being reported that he has multiple fractures and that skid marks at the scene indicate he may have been hit by a vehicle.
