Dave, if those comments shocked you its fair to say you havent been following public sentiment on this mate, its ALWAYS been that way. There are the few vocal idiots and then most people are OK. I think things are improving but by a question of degrees only.

My favourite climb is Mt Buffalo in Victoria, Australia. Its one i am sure that Hrotha would enjoy being long and steady. 20.9klms at 5.0% Road is in very good shape and its not a pass, so there is very little traffic. Its a great climb.

A key difference for me this year was that Evans hadn't burnt all his matches before the tour. He was underdone at the dauphine and for me that was a great sign. I was a bit dubious and thought he was top 5 but he was going about things the right way and giving himself every chance.
