    Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 126km

Re: Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 1 People are not looking for someone to blame they are looking for a fair and equitable solution. The only person to blame is mother nature. What would you do if this stage was on Saturday? That would but nuts Beral would win by default.

Re: Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 1 Then if you had a break 20 minutes up the road do you give them the time? i.e. if Quintana had got in the break today like yesterday?

    Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 126km

Re: Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 1 The stage has to finish, it didn't so no time bonuses, which is fair given the situation.

Re: Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 1 So no time bonuses - no 10 seconds or 8 seconds for Bernal. Puts him what 45 up on Ala?

    Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 126km

Re: Re: He was just behind when they made the announcement. True there was some slowing before everyone knew what was going on. Regardless he would have made time on most on the decent.

    Le Tour '19 stage 19: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne > Tignes 126km

Re: Partly true - he caught the Thomas group on the decent and the last climb wasn't as hard. He could have limited his losses. So not sure what time they should give. Remember Froome on Ventoux on the motocycle crash stage. They gave him the same time as Molloma.

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

Re: Re: Hmmmmm not so sure. This year both rest days were followed by a flat stage not the typical MTF after each rest day. I’d say night of the flat stage is the best time to transfuse. Sorry :p

Teams & Riders The official Egan Bernal is the new Egan Bernal thread

He is no where the best climber in the race. He’s still a good 30 seconds to a minute behind Pinot on the longer climbs. Thomas is not strong enough to act as a decoy.

    Julian Alaphilippe

Re: Re: Agreed. He has beaten Thomas about four times out of 10. It’s not unsuspecting on that course. The bots are outraged though. Cycling has been clean since 2012 and now it’s dirty again

Re: Re: You summed it up very well. There will be some fruitless attacks to be picked up on 1-2km later by the Ineos train. Poeles has been in rest mode and will be very happy to tempo at 450w until the cows come home.
