    The comeback of transfusing blood

I take it Hamilton has never talked about this? Any word on if he has a book deal?

I also seem to recall that when the French cracked down on doping and instituted more intense testing than the UCI he moved out of the country and took out a Swiss (?) license so as not to be subject to the stricter testing. Virenque did the same.

Not to mention the temptation to do what everyone else was doing and given the performance boost he would have gotten if he was actually clean, won even more than he actually did.

    Lance being Lance

Wow they have no shame, reminds me of Scientology. Let's take advantage of these weak people and drain them dry of any excess, or not even, cash they might have. I'm just really disturbed at the moment, if they're making those things there must be somebody out there buying them. I fear for...

    Lance being Lance

Seems like the Kona people are practically *** raping folks in exchange for a hefty fee. This is what happens when people with more money than sense over-populate a sport.

    Schleck 7w/kg

I was always under the impression that it was for decisive Tour length climbs, so something like 30 minutes, which I would guess is somewhere near or even less than FTP given that FTP is a fresh maximum one hour effort but you're talking about doing big climbs after a few hours of cycling...

The utter disdain cyclists have for triathletes is nothing new.

I guess, it's bound to be entertaining.

    Lance being Lance

I've not done a triathlon in 15 years, so he's not my problem. I'm talking about from a purely marketing perspective it's huge for triathlon to have Armstrong doing it. He's got more name recognition than every other professional triathlete there has ever been, combined.

    Lance being Lance

More likely he'll be paid to race whether he qualifies or not. Armstrong is the best thing to happen to triathlon.......ever. He might actually give Joe and Jane six-pack a reason to watch other than the prospect of seeing some woman **** herself as she crawls to the finish line.

    Does she or doesn't she?

Exactly, I saw a picture of her the other day and she's got a chin now that almost puts Cipollini's to shame. Growth hormone does a body good! If I were her physician and didn't know anything else about her I'd start suspecting a pituitary tumor.

Roadies should be thankful for Triathlon because it means there is at least one sport with a higher ******bag quotient. Seems to me the ******baggery in triathlon largely comes from the guys who want the sport to be something other than what it is, which is a participatory sport where every...

    Lance being Lance

If he ends up racing Kona this year, I have a suspicion he's going to do a lot better than the non-fanboys think he will. A properly prepared athlete of his caliber against a handful of other athletes that are somewhere in the ballpark of his talent but who are probably all rank amateurs when...

    Doping in Soccer/Football

IIRC there was an Italian study that showed you could dramatically lower the incidents of these events by screening young athletes with a stress test. Not currently done in the U.S. because of cost, but it's something to think about having done for yourself if you're young or for your kids at...

    Doping in Soccer/Football

Well the typical fatal arrhythmias are almost always ventricular (e.g., VTAC evolving to VFIB) and ventricular arrhythmias are usually due to some sort of cardiac hypoxia. "Oxygen vector doping" if anything should minimize the chance of this happening at least while someone is exercising...
