    March 19: Milan - San Remo 2011 298km

Thought I read somewhere that only Cav was on a Venge, so really it is egg on the Specialised promo. But not really cos the bike will be promoted & obviously people did not notice, the Venge was promoted & a Specialised won the race so all is good for them.

That's probably right, he would'nt get recognized by the general public. That's why he can go out riding with his local club on those nice sunny off season rides down in sunny Torquay (Aus) & enjoy mixing with the average Aussie "Bruce" cyclist. You reckon Boonen, Cav et al could or would want...

Radios - Safety or Control of your riders?

Radio's like helmets, they didn't want them, they were detrimental to performance & all sorts of other claptrap they said, what do you here about them now, yoo hoo --- Silence --- & they are all wearing them. The reports I've heard about OH&S for safety is a good one & I believe in it...

Cavs new Bike has F1 input and design

I have always been a fan of Specialised bikes, the zerts inserts have to be a good thing but I agree about your line on aerodynamics. There is only so much you can do with a pair of wheels with spokes & a human thrashing around in the wind. Anything past (rearwards) the handle bars, cables &...

Evans is a winner, just the big one is f***ing hard

They proly left him out cos he would be a risk to their dope security, who were they going to room him with

    Evans's change of approach

That looks like a winner to me. I reckon he's learnt how to do it after the worlds win, he's the winner you just watch in July

Evans is a winner, just the big one is f***ing hard

If a World Champion & a second place getter in the biggest bike race on the planet needs a miracle to win it then he will join all the past saints of the yellow jersey in Paris this year & praise the lord.

Evans is a winner, just the big one is f***ing hard

Nah you're wrong, the other two tours are 2nd place he wants the big podium step. Unless you can "buy" a team you cannot just place yourself on a team, Jan did it by being german, Lance by being American. There has been no big Australian sponser to fund an Aussie "hero". He can make the leap...

Evans is a winner, just the big one is f***ing hard

Yeah I think it goes deeper than that, in the past it was (probably) hard to get team support if a rider was not on it. Look at the years of big Jan, he got huge team support, but I bet if he turned to his then team manager & said "I am going the clean way he would have been laughed out of the...

Evans is a winner, just the big one is f***ing hard

Quoted from cn's report on the race. "Evans had only raced for two days before Tirreno-Adriatico but won with a combination of strong and intelligent racing, backed up by a solid BMC team that included Alessandro Ballan and an on-form George Hincapie" He can win the tour but it is very...

    UCI Amateur World Cycling Tour

I,d reckon one could get a good course in SA, Vic, NSW or Qld where 95% of the Aust population live. There may be a more financially inspired reason for going to the other end of Australia. Like lets make 195 of the competitors go 4,500 kms so that 5 riders can ride at home, or maybe they just...

    Change in Clinic attitude

I agree with 44, & its healthy to laugh at oneself at times. This part of the forum is just that for me, its a laugh at this group of humans striving for some sort of perfection in the weird tapestry of the human race. All racing for something in the end, but probably a lot/most of them don't...

    UCI Amateur World Cycling Tour

Australia has some great masters racing, and in fact there is a masters racing association totally separate from Cycling Australia because in the past masters were always getting treated as "add ons" to racing programs. It is a really good organization for riders 35yrs & above, with good regular...
