Hot racing coming up in Australia

Richmond 2015 World Championships, Sep 19-27

Re: Re: I guess I feel that team issues should stay in the team. A far nobler public response would have been to thank his teammates for contributing to his Silver medal, and deal with the issue privately. We have no way of knowing if Gerrans even had the legs to do anything differently.

Re: If what Matthews says is true I'm disappointed in Gerrans, but disappointed in Matthews as well for airing it in public.

    General News Thread

Vague about years, only says that will remain World Tour opener in January. Here's the presser from the TDU website. http://www.tourdownunder.com.au/en/news/2015/sep/23/santos-tour-down-under-secured-in-uci-worldtour

Who will win the 2015 Road World Championship?

As I noted in another thread - Australia are trumpeting Matthews, makes me think Gerrans is quietly feeling good :)

Australia are promoting Matthews heavily - suspect this means Gerrans is secret weapon:)

Have just seen on local news here that Tour Down Under will continue as WT in same slot.

2015 Vuelta stage 4: Estepona > Vejer de la Frontera 209.6km

Re: 2015 Vuelta stage 4: Estepona > Vejer de la Frontera 209 This seems like it could be a very interesting finish and very hard to predict. Expect some movement on the steep bits at 5 to go, some re-grouping over the top, and a select group contesting the final, with corners figuring in...

    Simon Gerrans discussion thread

Re: Re: Confirmed to ride the Vuelta, which ends the weekend of Quebec/Montreal (which he has already won). Makes me think he has his eye on Richmond? (beware The Sniper). Have had a brief look at the Richmond profile, looks on paper like it could suit a puncheur - Gerro, Valverde, Gilbert...

    World Tour Changes for 2017

Re: Re: Sorry, I did mis-read. Guess the question is should there be a global competition at the highest level or not. It's been fun to have all the big teams here for a "season opener", but I can see good arguments for some shake-up. I actually wouldn't mind seeing more races with national...

    World Tour Changes for 2017

Re: Re: It happens during January summer holidays and usually includes Australia Day. Date change would probably affect interstate visitors and attendance overall, don't know about road closures.

    World Tour Changes for 2017

Re: Not sure why you think Oman and Cali "deserve" higher status based on history and prestige. TDU has been going longer, has built up from 2.2 to WT on merit, is financially stable, riders and teams like it as an early, relaxed WT opening (where they can stay in the same hotel every...

    World Tour Changes for 2017

First thread I've ever started, and surprised about the lack of response. Is this topic off limits? Does Omertà rule? Does anyone know anything?

    World Tour Changes for 2017

Maybe there is already a thread for this, but who knows anything about what is actually proposed for the re-organisation of the World Tour? I've only heard rumours of a shorter season that might impact the Tour Don Under, anybody know anything more? Or rumours?
