Teams & Riders EF Pro Cycling

I have been critical of their spring classics team in the past, so I feel obliged to point out that they were outstanding today. Wish Bettiol could have held on for a podium, but team was quite strong.

Would have to agree with your assessment to date, but I hope that if he can stay injury free that he can ride into some form. It’s not like he’s too old. There is still a chance for him to make good on the pile of cash EF forked over to get him. Two stages at the tour, or a stage plus polka dots...

Teams & Riders EF Pro Cycling

I would agree great effort by Healy. Bodes well for his classics season. I have to think that when EF paid up to acquire Carapaz, they’d hoped for more than him being the last man standing in a doomed break at TA. He has always been a rider with good peaks who struggles to hold form throughout...

Not sure who is more incompetent, the sports performance team and directors responsible for the EF spring classics preparation, or me for continuing to pick EF riders for my spring CQ team? Both should be fired promptly. Their performance today was absolutely dismal, but right in line with what...

The 2024 CQ Ranking Manager Thread

Good day today: Girmay, Magnier and Lamperti and Martinez all scoring well for me. Hopeful they can all score well throughout the year.

Why is Kamp riding in non team kit? Is he without a contract? I cannot imagine that to be the case? PCS has him with Pauwels through the end of 2024.

The 2023 CQ Ranking Manager Thread

Rough year for me, but still enjoyed following the game. Big thanks to skidmark for running the game and all those who helped. Congrats to Blues in the Bottle and the rest of the podium. Can’t wait to the big reveal of 2024 teams in early January!

World Championships 2023: Womens Elite Road Race. Loch Lomond - Glasgow 154km

Anyone watching on Flobikes: who is the commentator working with Ant McCrossan? She is infinitely preferable to Hannah Walker.

2023 Tour de France CQ Game

Chapeau to the winner PostmanHat and a big thanks Armchair cyclist for again taking the time to run this game!

Teams & Riders Team Visma - Lease a Bike

No way they should leave Van Hooydonck at home. The dude is the best domestique in the peloton right now in terms of positioning his leader and getting the break right. He is to Jumbo what Luke Rowe was to Sky during their years of dominance.

Better GT prospect Sheffield or Pidcock

Great call on Tulett. I think he and Arensman have equally a good chance as Pidcock and Sheffield to be the next GT leader at Ineos. If Ineos are willing to let Tao walk after this year, they must have faith that one or more of the four have the ability to win a GT.

Better GT prospect Sheffield or Pidcock

Am I out of line thinking that there is a real question as to whether or not Magnus Sheffield might be a better GC prospect in GTs than Thomas Pidcock for Ineos? I think it has been widely assumed that Pidcock would eventually be the primary GT leader at Ineos, but Sheffield has a far better TT...

Tour De France: Unchained aka that netflix thingy

I agree that the target audience is not us: Those who follow cycling closely enough to chat about it on online forums. I watched the entire series. Most of it was meh, but I did enjoy the episode featuring Pinot and Madiot. I thought it illustrated well the romanticism with which FDJ and...

Teams & Riders EF Pro Cycling

Surprised to see Bettiol and Cort both doing Giro/tour double. Would not be surprised to see one or both come off the Tour start list. If these six do go, I would guess Powless and one of Bissegger, Rutsch, or Scully fill the last two spots? The only thing I know for sure is that we won’t find...

    Rate the 2023 Giro d'Italia

The natural beauty of Italy makes a rating of “1” impossible, but the backloaded route really worked against any entertainment. The advantage the Giro has when compared to the tour is that no team is invincible. The tour is so controlled because 180 riders show up in impeccable form. That makes...
