According to the bookies now Kruijswijk is the likely victor. They have Kruijswijk clear favorite at $1.70, Chavito at $4.9 & Nibali at $7 I hope Nibali can show something in the third week - hes been pretty flat to date :(

I thought Nibali looked good early (and he did) but that TT yesterday was concerning. I'm not writing him off completely as yet, as it is a Giro and anything can happen. He's going to need some luck now though - still a week to go and he shouldn't (and wont) give up but honestly something pretty...

It will be interesting to see how the time trial goes today. I think Nibali should be able to gain some seconds back on Kruijswijk If he can do this he will put himself back in the pole position again as I think he has Chavito covered but really needs to keep an eye on Kruijswijk

What are peoples thoughts after today. I'm slightly disappointed - I thought he rode well but Kruijswijk rode better.

well he certainly has put himself right into contention to win this now. I think after today theres only 3 real chances to win Kruijswijk, Nibali & Chaves. Lets see how Kruijswijk goes during the last week - my only questions on him is if his team can support him adequately.

Re: Nibali is not subpar.....he is riding a great race. He is conserving energy but can still put on a burst when he likes - as seen when he outsprinted Valverde to the line at the end of the stage. Importantly his team is doing great -the shark is riding well within himself. He's only 41...
