Dwars door Vlaanderen 2026, April 1

Most likely nobody can follow Pogi in ToF, but if just someone can, the door is suddenly open for Wout to take the win, because then it is gonna be a more tactical final, where he can come back. Roubaix is his best shot though.

Poor Wout, can't help feeling sorry for him. But if it had to happen, I like that Ganna took the win, his first in a classic.

What place will Remco get in RVV?

Before race: Clear podium contender. After race: He was still recovering from his crash/illness.

Teams & Riders Jonas Vingegaard thread: Love in Iberia

Numbers do lie, unfortunately. I don't buy that Landa was so strong in the 2024 Tour that he would have won the 2022 and 2023 Tour had he shown up in the same shape. Vingegaard's 2024 Tour is unlikely to be his peak when looking at how he performed compared to the competition. Tirreno 2024, okay...

Really? He is listed on Procyclingstats' start list. I think it is the worst of the three races for him, so would make sense to skip it.

I don't know. I think the climbs in Amstel are much easier than in the other two, which is also reflected by the list of winners. The roads are more narrow and technical, which poses an extra challenge. Amstel is in general the more difficult race for the strongest guy to win.

Pidcock would be the clear favorite for Amstel, had he not crashed hard in Catalunya. Depending on how badly hurt he was, he might still be the clear favorite. I also have Del Toro and Skjelmose on the same level as Remco. Remco suck at big week long stage races for whatever reasons. But one of...

Lipo doesn't need an excuse, he performed at roughly the expected level, or the level reflected by the hype (he probably outperformed that honestly) and betting odds.

Who will be the next new tour de France winner ?

When looking at this you have to consider who from the past 2 years have been the strongest GC rider besides the ones who already won the Tour (Vingegaard, Pogacar and I guess Bernal). That would be Roglic, Evenepoel, Lipowitz, Almeida (not counting retired Yates). You can add in a couple of...

Teams & Riders Brothers in (crank) arms - Yates Discussion Thread

Axelgaard is right. No matter how people here try to twist and turn and rationalize this announcement and its timing, it is really strange and can only suggest something being seriously off. Usually riders don't retire on a wimp just after a training camp and just after the transfer window has...

    Team Visma LAB

I don't want to accuse Simon Yates of breaking any rules, there can be other reasons for this looking weird. But everybody have to admit this is probably the weirdest retirement from cycling in many, many years. I don't think the team has told us everything that has been going on. S. Yates comes...
